August 6, 20205 yr Hello all, I am trying to troubleshoot a problem that has been occuring off and on over the past few months. For example, I am flying a short final into an airport and then the entire monitor suddenly becomes blank. I can still hear the aircraft flying (so the audio system is okay), but there is nothing on the screen. Any ideas as to what is going on?
August 6, 20205 yr I'm assuming that sim doesn't recover and crashes to desktop. Does this happen at a default airport using a stock aeroplane, or are you using an add-on airport and a complex 3rd party plane? Any information would be helpful in that regard. If it's the latter then you may be getting an Out Of Memory error. If it's the latter then you may be getting an Out Of Memory error. It happens with add-on airports and third party aircraft. It's weird, because the audio is fine, even though my screen is blank. The actual color of the entire blank screen (in addition to the sounds) is reminiscent of a smoke in the cockpit emergency 😨 Edited August 9, 20205 yr by Blue Baron

August 10, 20205 yr Could be overheating of the graphics card, but more likely you are at the memory limit of FSX, which is 4 GB of RAM. It has happened to me too, especially when I have other programs running, maybe Firefox too as it happens most when I am testing scenery and comparing it to satellite images. August 19, 20205 yr I had a similar problem, but my scren went a bit purple - in the end I worked out I had streTched the cable and pulled apart the connector a bit from the cable. Check your cable connections, and the pins inside your connectors - it might be an easy fix. - Paul Elliott http://www.avsim.com/topic/450607-amy-johnson-london-to-australia-attempt/
