CPU Temperatures - P3D (V5)

Hi all,

Has anyone noticed that the maximum cpu temperatures when running P3D are much higher than any other gaming /process and even cpu stress testers??

I have a 10700k overclocked to 4.9ghz and I can easily hit a maximum temperature of mid 80s, this is with an AIO liquid cooler (NZXT Kraken).

Thoughts?

I want to compare people who haven't delidded if that's ok. De-lidding obviously brings down the temperatures .

There's many other factors that come into play when determining CPU temps. Ambient room temp plays a big deal as well. I find that on my old setup when running P3D v5, it hits up to around 80-85C in areas with a lot of add-ons. This is with a fan cooler. But my ambient room temp is about 79-80F.

1 -- do you have good airflow for your Cooler?  even though it is liquid cooled the Radiator still needs to perform a Heat Exchange.  Similar to an AC unit there is also only a "maximum" that you can drop the Temps vs the external Air temp.  If the air temp around the case is warm or your Inlet vs exhaust is not moving enough air over the Radiator then you are going to only be able to drop the circulation by so much.

2 -- Are you sure that you have a good solid Thermal Bond to the Water Block?  Again if there is an issue here you are not maximizing your thermal dissipation.

My old setup is not liquid cooled but air cooled.
