Cannot start engine No 2 in PMDG 737NGXu

Featured Replies

Hi, I am using the latest version of P3D V5 and have recently been starting my flight by setting the panels to cold and dark. I use ground power first, setup the flight, transfer to the APU and all seem to be working well. Switch on the remaining fuel pumps etc, pushback and then attempt to start engine number 2 by selecting it on the overhead panel, switching to ground and then introducing the fuel. Engine number 2 will not start. The strange thing is that I apply the same procedure to engine No1 and it works just fine. I have tried using ground maintenance to fix any issue but to no avail. What am I not doing?

any suggestions appreciated.

Packs off?

I will need to check if the packs were off - I think they were - but why would engine 1 start if they were not off? - and that was the reason engine 2 did not start

Do you have the Isolation valve open to allow air flow from the number 1 side to number 2 side?

Also it is normal to start the number 2 engine first.

Hope this helps.

Not sure about the isolation valve - it could be that. I usually start engine number 2 first - when it failed, I then tried engine number 1 just to see if that was workings

If the engine does not turn over at all, it more than likely means the isolation valve is closed (APU connects to the bleed duct on the left side of the isolation valve, which is why #1 starts normally).

If it spools up, but too slowly for a good start, it's probably because one or both AC packs are still running.

Thanks for all the help - I am going to check but think it is the isolation valve
