August 17, 20205 yr Watching Drawyah do a 787 flight in the release version. AP working smoothly. He's doing VNAV with no issues. No oscillation or rapid banking bugs. FMC looked to finally work right. If you were in the beta or you watched some "preview" videos prior to the release version, you know how big of a showstopper these bugs were. The airliners may not be study level, but that at least appear to work now as an A to B via IFR tool. Thanks to Asobo for taking this stuff seriously and getting it fixed.
August 17, 20205 yr That is excellent news....counting down the hours. I feel like Asobo really did a great job managing PR on this project.
August 17, 20205 yr Thank you for making this post. The autopilot was my biggest concern. It was really my only concern. I was an alpha/beta tester from the start and wrestled with the out-of-control autopilot ever since Alpha 4. I was confident it would be fixed before Release Day, but I'm grateful you confirmed it. The 747 AP still has some issue. I was just looking at Fligthdeck2sim streaming and while the 787 AP was fine, he was struggling with the 747. i9-11900K (5.3 GHz), 64 GB RAM (DDR4 3600), RTX 3070, 1 TB (M.2 SSD). Windows 10 Pro. August 17, 20205 yr I just tried altitude hold on a DA40NG. Going to high time compression puts it into steep up and down climbs to the point where the plane stalls. So that is still buggy.

Going to high time compression in every sim makes the AP go crazy (ok, maybe not DCS?). That's not the kind of "bug" I'm talking about. Edited August 17, 20205 yr by bonchie
August 18, 20205 yr I just figured that having a wonky autopilot in the Beta was Asobo's way of "encouraging" us to hand fly. 😄 Hook Larry Hookins Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of EarthAnd danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
