August 18, 20205 yr So far my experience has been disappointing... - When launching the sim, typically nothing happens or launches some black screen and crashes back to desktop... Launching a second time and it "starts" (see below) - Got it to start once, and crashed my PC while taxiing... - Recently starting, getting to some screens or loading screens and either crashes to desktop or blue screen... Not really sure what to make of this. My PC is not the *latest* but should be up for it (and speaking of that, why did it "suggest" only *medium* for settings??? Specs: i7 4790K 4.4Ghz / 32GB RAM / Asus Strix GTX 1080Ti (11GB)
August 18, 20205 yr Those crashes are not normal and your system seems to have issues.... drivers updated? Virus check? Tempurates are ok? What is the error code in the blue screen? my bet is temperature then drivers. Your specs are fine Lukas Dalton
August 18, 20205 yr The medium settings could be due to your processor. As for the issues, make sure windows is updated and all your drivers are as well. Could also try running the sim as admin, might help.
August 18, 20205 yr So long as there are no driver or hardware issues (make sure everything is seated properly on the motherboard, things get hot when taxed and that can pop them loose, then they cool and drop back in and so you don't suss it as an issue), that PC should run it okay. I reckon running it as admin will sort it. There's a lot of accessing hidden folders and stuff like that going on with this sim, and so admin permissions for the thing is a good idea. Do have AV, Bitdefender, can try that. Temperature, not really sure, Coretemp logs did not show anything wildly high, but in any case I do have a new cooler to install. Error screen don't think there was one with those pesky "user friendly" screens...

Will give the run as admin a try too. Installed on a separate disk, both the initial install and when it asked on initial "update" (90 Gb "update", right 🙂 ) that data too.... Will also add it to AV exclusions.

I also updated to the new NVIDIA drivers yesterday. On a hunch I removed the new drivers and reinstalled the old ones. Guess what? My download is now running smooth. Don't know if that was my issue, but you may want to try it. Edited August 18, 20205 yr by vcarlo Quote

The sim is fluid with nearly everything to the right Juan Ramos

Was runnning at could hundred (maybe) KB/sec and jumped to my full 100MB/sec. Don't really thinkg it's drivers though, as sometme it just crashes immediately.
