August 18, 20205 yr With HT disabled- my I7-6700k Skylake CPU will run at 90-100% maxed out usage most of the time. With HT enabled- it runs 40-60% usage. MSFS responds very well to Hyper Threading.
August 18, 20205 yr Not with an I9-9900KF, but my cpu is around 40% and has easy days with this sim... André
August 18, 20205 yr Author Hi awf, yes this is for those that experience high cpu usage. Not all cpu's will need it but for those with older 4 core cpu's such as mine- the relief is welcome.

August 18, 20205 yr Where does one enable hypertherading? As long as Ive been messing with computers I really mess with that stuff.
August 18, 20205 yr Of course ON! P3D is probably the only software that requires you to disable CPU features in the bios. I gotta laugh every time I think of it. What a junk. Hi Lotharen, you have to enable hyperthreading in your computers bios. You can also use a free program like MSI Afterburner to monitor your cpu useage before and after in realtime while running the sim. I also use MSI Afterburner to setup a custom cooling fan profile to keep things nice and cool. My cpu temp never goes over 65c but i also have a Corsair watercooled cpu.

Noone needs to activate it. - Currently giving X-Plane 12.10 a spin on Shadow PC. 10 years with X-Plane now, since 10.20

August 18, 20205 yr Thanks for the replies. Ill check my bios when I get home and just see. This was my last prebuilt computer. I'm saving for a custom PC ill build myself. Edited August 18, 20205 yr by Lotharen
August 18, 20205 yr What you said makes no sense... if you enabled HT, which in theory doubles your CPU performance (not really but let's pretend) and the sim goes from 100% to 50% utilization, then it's literally not doing anything is it? If HT had any significant impact you'd want to still see 80-90% utilization and much better performance...
