CTD

Featured Replies

Getting these 5-10 minutes into a flight. Sim just simply closes. Anyone else?

Is there a manual with this sim? I have a non supported stick and throttle (X-65).

thanks.

i get them, mostly when changing the FP on the GPS, sometimes when interacting with ATC and sometimes sim just freezes and never recovers

Updating to NVidia driver to 452.06 solved a persistent CTD issue for me.

I just do a take off and during the climb out it just shuts down. My computer has a I7-9900, 2080, 32 gigs ram etc......should be fine for required power.

Thanks...I’ll check that out.

Happening to me, too.  I am running 452.06.  Never had a problem with the alpha.

Yes, should be fine for power, I’m on a I7 7700, 16 gigs of ram and a gtx 1060 6gb card, running on high...no crashes yet

Updating to Windows 10 2004 fixed CTDs for me. These instructions might help too: https://flightsimulator.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360015893879-How-to-troubleshoot-crashes-CTDs-during-gameplay

Thanks for that link. I've updated windows to 2004 and installed the same driver. On the Steam edition, each time I start the sim and load a flight it immediately crashes just as the aircraft is about to load. If I restarft the sim I can do one short flight. If I change scenery or aircraft then click "fly now" the same thing happens, immediate CTD the moment the aircraft loads. I've tried endless tweaks, different Steam settings, differnet graphic options, and the same thing happens every time.

I haven't had a p3d crash for months, nor FSX.

I fixed this by manually overriding the virtual memory in Windows advanced settings, and setting my own virtual memory on each drive: minimum 8GB, maximum 16GB. Haven't seen a CTD since...

Will try this tonight, thanks.

I hope it works for you, too.

No joy.  Still crashes with 8-16G settings.  I then uninstalled/reinstalled the full package and still had crashes.  My graphics settings defaulted to ultra so I toned it down and it seemed to run longer until I started tweaking some settings.  Apply & save caused an immediate CTD.

For anyone interested, I updated windows to v 2004, installed the latest Nvidia driver, redownloaded the English-us voice pack and then set everything in the sim to the lowest settings and I still got crash after crash. I then realised I had previously set the page file in SYSTEM/advanced to lower than usual. Re-setting it to be managed by windows appears to have fixed the crashes, which, touch wood, have not happened since.
