Same here, but I got charged anyway. When I tried to get a refund, I was told that

"Our refund policy limits the number of refunds for which customers are eligible within a year and you have already received the allowed number of refunds this year. Thanks for understanding."

I was unable to Buy and Download from marketplace, but found the solution was NOT to run MS2020 as administrator.

Hello!

Where is the target program file name and location on the disk? I must check if it is run as administrator.

I made sure my exe was not checked to run as administrator.  No joy here.

I've tried all the steps on the interwebz.

I also just received an interesting email from Carenado (after I asked about the possibility to purchase direct from them).

To paraphrase: MS has not given them permission to do that yet.

So much for Community.

Did you try the method below? It seems like it is a requirement, and it is what fixed it for me. Like so much stuff with this sim, MS/AS has jest left us to figure out basic stuff on our own. By basic, I mean things like how to start the darn sim. I don't have an XBox or a previous XBox account so starting the sim through the XBox app was incredible intuitive. Of course, when you are used to creating games strictly for gamers, you assume that everyone has an XBox account and is accustomed to starting all their games through that app. They need to remember that some of the biggest hardcore FS fans are over 60 years old, and they should make assumptions like that.

I had the same problem. When I ran MSFS as an administrator the purchase would hang up as pending. I updated my windows10 which was out of date. When I opened MSFS (without using "as an administrator") it solved the problem.
