August 22, 20205 yr I know this area quite well from flights in the ORBX FSX/P3D scenery, so I was eager to see, how this would look in default MSFS. I’m pleasantly surprised. Remember the famous goat track in ORBX Tapini? It’s here too 😊 Woitape comes up Thanks for viewing Edited August 22, 20205 yr by bernd1151 Any attempt to stretch fuel is guaranteed to increase headwinds My specs: AMD Radeon RX6700XT, AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, 32GB RAM, 34" monitor, screen resolution: 2560x1080
August 22, 20205 yr Very nice tour thanks. Looks like the buildings are custom or certainly not lidar reproduced. And I'm still struggling trying to accept, on sunny days, the cloud reflection or sky just seems overly bright to me in this sim. However, nice to see this area looks good. August 22, 20205 yr Bernd, those are some great shots of PNG, believe it or not, I was actually born there! Cheers, Jerome
August 22, 20205 yr These are the shots which convince me most of MSFS so far. Because they show neither Seattle nor L.A, N.Y, Paris or London, but a so far quite neglected area in our sims, at least by default scenery. Harald Geyer Gründer der Messerschmitt Freunde Dresden v. V.
August 23, 20205 yr Author Many thanks for your comments, gents 15 hours ago, jzimmermann said: ...believe it or not, I was actually born there! Wow, very interesting. I have been there with my wife many moons ago. I remember one trip we took from Goroka to Madang on the east coast. My wife was afraid of flying in small planes and when we arrived at the airport in Goroka, she was relieved to see a 19-seater parked on the tarmac. Oh, that plane is fine, she told me. But I then said that this is not going to be our plane, our plane is parked behind that larger one. But it's small, so you won't see it. I can't remember, what plane it was, it was a six-seater and when she saw it, she told me that she will refuse to board it. I then said that the only alternative to get from Goroka to Madang is by bus. Through the jungle, surrounded in the bus by locals. And that trip would take a considerable longer time than our plane ride. That convinced her. Until we met the pilot. He did not only look young, he was young, a very nice 26-year old Kiwi pilot. I told her not to worry, because I would sit next to him. After take-off, he asked me, to which airport we would be flying. I looked at him quite startled (which my wife of course noticed) and told him: to Madang. Oh, he replied, I have never flown there. But it was at the end a very nice, enjoyable trip through the mountains. And when we finally saw Madang in the distance, I knew that my wife would be very happy. After our arrival I told her, why I looked so startled. When I wanted us to go on another trip to PNG, she said I could always go there, but she wouldn't join me. And yes, we are still married 😉 Any attempt to stretch fuel is guaranteed to increase headwinds My specs: AMD Radeon RX6700XT, AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, 32GB RAM, 34" monitor, screen resolution: 2560x1080
August 24, 20205 yr PNG region looks great here, Bernd...! (And, agree with Harald, I'm a believer, too, that the SIM has things, by default, to keep us well-occupied....(and entertained too...)...
