Help please... (Micro)stuttering still present

Featured Replies

What caused microstutters for me was the fact that I had plugged in my peripherals (yoke/rudder/throttle) and then started FS 2020 without restarting my computer. If I restart the PC before launching FS the stutters are gone. I'm guessing it has something to do with USB. At least for me.

Hmmm... this definitely needs further investigation!!!

IMHO, high FPS is not the Holy Grail.

FPS consistency is.

Try setting the maximum FPS externally to 30 in the nvidia control panel or rivatuner.

It's been my experience that consistently timed frames are the secret to perfectly smooth performance with just the occasional judder (not stutter) as textures get loaded now and then.

They appear to be unavoidable for now..... I wonder if a patch will resolve this, apparently they weren’t there in alpha/beta. I suppose that based on who you talk to/believe I suppose though.

Ha! Sounds  like a post from 2005.

(-:

More FPS does not always equate to smooth operation! The simconnect issue is proof of that. Hooks, calls etc.

Like I said in an earlier post , frame timing consistency is more important than FPS alone.

I'm sorry to say the stutters are back.

I followed the guide in the video, set up my sim and flew off. No stutters. Then I landed at a small airport, and when I taxied to the terminal there was massive stutters. Then I started the same flight again from the same departure airport, and the stutters were there too.

It seems like it has something to do with the local cache. When I set it to 128 GB the terrain looked weird. If I clear the local cache it gets better for a bit. Now I'm back to the recommended 8 GB and terrain looks normal, but I get stutters sometimes.

Clearing the weather helps a bit, but stutters are back when looking towards buildings.
