August 24, 20205 yr Other than Ryan and myself. This one is in the pipeline and should be a real barn burner. All the negatives about the small useful load, snug cabin with not enough shoulder room and the outrageous price tag for the Mooney is out the window when sim flying. This one is probably the best of the best for all the Mooney models and one of the few high end ones that we can get with round gauges. This one also was built as a glass panel model for only $800,000. I wonder why it didn't sell well? Anyway, no date on delivery just yet, but this very nice panel shot is the home screen on the Carenado facebook page. When Pigs Fly . Ray Marshall .
August 24, 20205 yr Happy to see Mooney. Not big fun of Carenado flight and system modeling though Life time flight sim enthusiast, current airplane owner 172P (past C182F). August 24, 20205 yr Author We can hope the MFS2020 flight model allows some new improvements in the flight dynamics, If nothing else, maybe there will be the possibility of specific tweaking that was not possible in FSX. Asobo and MS both say this is a highly improved flight model. When Pigs Fly . Ray Marshall .
August 24, 20205 yr Absolutely looking forward to some more traditional panels. The big flat panels - the Gxxx series, the Nxi series, etc are all sweet in real life, but have proven difficult to accurately and completely model in simland, and are also performance hogs. Ahh, the leather wrapped Mooney yoke...makes me pine for my M20J I used to fly. A traditional panel turboprop is also a need. 1 hour ago, raymar said: snug cabin with not enough shoulder room Hey, us Mooney advocates will be quick to remind you that the Mooney is actually wider than the Bonanza at the hips! 😉 The Baron is coming to MSFS; that one I'm particularly looking forward to... 5800X3D | Radeon RX 6900XT
August 24, 20205 yr Author Yes, we have a bright future now that we have a new sim for everyone to enjoy. I personally can't think of a better choice of round gauge design than the Mooney Ovation, except of course, the Bravo. I do tend to move toward the turbos. Nothing replaces higher and faster for me. August 24, 20205 yr Too bad it is Carenado, I was almost excited. Looking forward to the A2A Aerostar... whenever that happens.
August 24, 20205 yr Author Yes, I am also looking forward to the A2A Aerostar, but that could be a lengthy wait. Meanwhile, this Mooney Ovation can provide a ton of enjoyable flying until something else comes along and blows up my skirt. When Pigs Fly . Ray Marshall .

At the moment they are using effectively a rehashed version of FSX but with quite a lot of parameters removed. If anything they have simplified things, at least for the moment. The engine parameters are almost precisely a copy of fsx. It is possible that hard coded or unseen additional features are present but I've yet to see them working. I concede it is very early days yet but I see no evidence of more tweaking opportunities, only less. I sincerely hope that will change. They have done a fantastic job on the scenery and weather, despite some views pointing out the flaws. All the best. August 24, 20205 yr Author Hey, good to hear from you. Hope all is well and you are enjoying yourself. I hate to hear this not so good news. Like you said, it’s early and just maybe . . . When Pigs Fly . Ray Marshall .
August 24, 20205 yr I have flown 3 models of Mooney. The first one was M20C came with weird system that doesn't let you bank more than 30 degrees unless you press button on the yoke. Significantly I had first ever in flight fire in that one. The second, M20E with Johnoson bar - easy to drop hard to retract! And finally the third one M20J that I use CFI exam airplane. I will never forget those power off 180 at 100mph. Out of all airplanes I flown Mooney were the least comfortable! Sport car like setting on the floor, huge cowling and a lot of scratches when you use mechanical trim wheel! This the only video of Mooney I have (way before GoPro and another fancy portable cameras appeared Life time flight sim enthusiast, current airplane owner 172P (past C182F).
