I would not run rendering over 100 but you can mess around with the different settings.  80-90 actually still looks good on my monitor and performance is improved quite a bit.  I have been using 90 as I am flying GA aircraft only now. Airliners crush my system (esp 787).....

Yeah, my flight last night in the A320 struggled as i got over Chicago..  It wasn't terrible, but definitely not ideal.

What resolution monitor are you running?  I am running a similar system and still trying to work out the pauses and stutters but I set my render at 90.  I am running a super ultra wide monitor though (5120x1440) and that takes a lot of GPU power and my card is running hard and I suspect that is part of my issue.

Flic1 -   Just curious ... how do you like the visuals on the ultra-wide?  Do you get projection across teh full screen?  Any distortion towards the sides?

You should decrease your rendering to 80 or 70. But if your CPU is at 100% this setting will not change it, it will just increase the performance.

Your CPU or your GPU will be at 100% (if you do not restrict FPS) all the time. If you want your CPU lower than 100% you increase the load for the GPU by increasing render scale for example until your GPU is at 100%, than your CPU will not be at 100% anymore because it has to wait for the GPU. But there is no real reason to do this. It is just the normal state that your GPU or your CPU are working at 100%. If your CPU is at 100% all the time because your settings are too low, you can increase your graphics settings without FURTHER performance decrease until the GPU is at 100%.

Love the monitor (Samsung 49" CRG9)!  I think it is perfect for flightsimming and very happy with it..  There is a little stretching at the edges but you can minimize it with increasing zoom settings and moving your camera position backward as needed.  I really don't notice it much...

Been looking at ultra-wides for awhile now.  Any thoughts on going with AMD Freesync verses Nvidia G Sync?
