August 26, 20205 yr The Carenado 182 is not a 'simple port over job' with no extra work. If it was, it would not be able to do this: The sound is not its strongest point, but it's not as bad as some people would have you believe. A lot of what you hear on videos people have made depends on what they recorded it on, and what you are listening to it on. Having said all that, personally I think it is slightly overpriced; a fairer price - and a more sensible one, from a marketing standpoint - would be 15.99, which is under the magic 'more than 20 quid' point which stops people pulling the trigger on purchases. That would make it less revenue, but it's a big psychological difference with buyers when prices are well below 20 quid. If Carenado realised that, they'd also realise they'd make far more money off it from volume sales in spite of the lower price tag. People new to flight simming, which a lot of new MS Flight Simulator users are, are not accustomed to paying that much for DLC, so they'll see that price tag and just go 'screw that'. Whereas us lot who have been buying flight sim stuff for years have been conditioned to accept those kind of prices and more for a toy aeroplane. This is a new marketplace, and a new and large market, but it's one where taking the p*** on prices won't wash with new users who've not been in a position of that being the status quo for over a decade with other sims. I think PMDG and FSL and maybe Leonardo?)? Would that not depend upon the individual's sound settings? Does MSFS not have sliders to adjust different sounds as per FSX? Engine, Environment, Cockpit etc.? For example If I'm hot dogging the Sky Sim MD-11 then the wind noise (slipstream) get louder as I get closer to overspeed especially at lower altitudes.. and that's FSX, not P3D or beyond. September 10, 20205 yr They just released an 1.3GB update to this plane. I got it at the in-game Marketplace. Edited September 10, 20205 yr by espent // 5800X3D // RTX 3090 // 64GB RAM // HP REVERB G2 //
September 10, 20205 yr no thanks, I'm having a blast with default 172 - its good enough in my opinion for now. Be honest I'm waiting for A2A to drop their GA stuff, I know it might be a while but the defaults are good enough to tide me over until we see some real quality worth shelling out £ on. I'll be honest I used to be too quick to get my wallet out on previous sims but with MSFS its different, I'm being much more picky enjoying the amazing out the box scenery with the good (sometimes average) default aircraft.
