October 30, 200619 yr Hi guys,a simple one here. When I dock a float plane facing a deck ...I am stuck there. Is there a way to reverse or change the direction you are facing with the plane. I am pretty sure I am missing something.
October 30, 200619 yr Press the Y key. Move your float or land-based plane where you wish it to be in the scenery. Then press the Y key once more. The Y key puts you into SLEW mode.Cheers!Mitch R.
October 30, 200619 yr Oh, naww. Surely there is a better way than slewing. Like some sort of pushback for floatplanes. I guess in rl someone can take a pole and kick away from the dock that way...RhettAMD 3700+ (@2.5 ghz), eVGA 7800GT 256 (94.47), ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2 GB Corsair XMS 3-3-3-8, WD 250 gig 7200 rpm SATA2, CoolerMaster Praetorian Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB
October 30, 200619 yr Commercial Member Hi Rhett, someone wrote that the regular pushback function for land-based aircraft works for floatplanes too - have you tried it?Cheers, Holger
October 30, 200619 yr What is the key for push back? I didn't see that!?You will understand that I am tired to end a mission because I can't leave the deck after stopping by to unload a passenger. I am trying to park sideways ...but it's tricky an I am always finishing up getting stuck in the deck anyway. RRRRRRRR
October 30, 200619 yr shift+p:) amazon mission? October 30, 200619 yr >Hi Rhett,>>someone wrote that the regular pushback function for>land-based aircraft works for floatplanes too - have you tried>it?>>Cheers, Holgerhaha! No I have not tried it, but if pushback works for floaters that would be nice. I'm presently flying in lake-filled Canada, parked at Pearson Intl...may have to divert up north to a lake and try this out...RhettAMD 3700+ (@2.5 ghz), eVGA 7800GT 256 (94.47), ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2 GB Corsair XMS 3-3-3-8, WD 250 gig 7200 rpm SATA2, CoolerMaster Praetorian Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB
October 30, 200619 yr Guess what.... it's tricky in the real world too :-)And if you do end up nosed into a dock, there's no real world way to get away from it from in the cockpit. You have to get out and push the plane away manually.... consider it a "feet wet slew" :-)Richard
October 30, 200619 yr Ok guys I tried.Shift-P is officialy working with float planes. So I am able to leave a deck safely now.I was able to go further in the amazon mission ...but I crashed trying to flee the Lost Temple scene later ;)I'll give it another try tonight. This mission is so fun and immersive!
October 30, 200619 yr I use Shift + P too. The Amazon mission is very good. But i haven't been able to finish it yet, tried it 2 times and crashed 2 times after 50 minutes while landing at the airport. Will try it one more time. The only mission so far i haven't been able to finish is the austrian championship soaring mission, i go trough all the waypoints and when i make a succesfull landing the voice says something like: Nice landing, too bad you didn't get all the waypoints.Happened 3 times and i'm sure i flew trough all eleven waypoints. October 30, 200619 yr Pushback works as long as the aircraft has wheels. So, most helicopters are a no. Floatplanes are a no. Amphibious (such as the goose) yes.Andrew Brown
October 30, 200619 yr Yo ucan also opushback with the wind. Drop full flaps, set a wind that blo9ws offshore or away from the dock and sail away. That's how real floatplane drivers do it, if the wind direction permits.Allcott
