September 3, 20205 yr Anyone know how I can get the old view where I can pan around the aircraft from the outside? I'm at my wits end with these weird view options... Thanks in advance for any help. September 4, 20205 yr You have to go to controller settings and delete the current joystick assignments for interior and exterior quickview. Then assign the more basic options look left, look right etc. If you don't delete the quick views first it won't work. This will make the views look just like fsx. September 4, 20205 yr Press the End key to get an external view from behind. Hold down the right mouse button and move the mouse to pan around the aircraft. With TrackIR you can look around from that viewpoint. Hook Edited September 4, 20205 yr by LHookins Larry Hookins Oh! September 4, 20205 yr Default is either insert or end key. The instruments pop up at first until you move the camera.
September 4, 20205 yr External toggle = END key Sure wish it would let you move forward and backward instead of zooming!

Thanks in advance for any help. Depends on what controller you are using. I use a joystick. In the controls menu, i select my stick from the top of the screen, then go down and select camera-external camera. I deleted any presets for the hat switch (MSFS calls it the Joystick POV). There is a Joystick POV left, right, up and down available on my hat switch. I assigned External View Look Left, External View Look Right, External View Look Up, and External View Look Down to the those four, respectively. No more of that Quickview which seems more suited to a fighter game. The first time you make changes to a control you have to give it a profile/name. MSFS will always default to the last profile you used, so no problems there. I only have one profile (#1) for keyboard, mouse, and joystick that I use. Edited September 4, 20205 yr by desbean
