September 7, 20205 yr Who knows this iconic place for Georgia Tech fans? The level of detail is amazing. And its default! Bonus points for knowing what the round, tall structure is just behind my left wing. You got that right "Scottie" 🙂 I'm not sure one could classify anything they sell there as food....but the Orange Freeze was refreshing on a hot Atlanta day! 3 hours ago, HighBypass said: Taz Anderson's Centennial Tower. Yeah...bonus points to Google. Remember the day when you wanted to search for something, you went to the library, or pulled a trusty Encyclopedia Britannica off the shelf? And the amount of time it took? Now just about anything is available thru a Google search, and the only limiting factors are how fast you can type it, and how adept you become a scrolling past the dozen or so ads at the top of the search that want to sell you something related to the query. September 7, 20205 yr Steve: With your "expert" set-up and resolutions, here, you seem to have got these, "Where's XYZ...?" queries, in MSFS, simplified for the rest of us...🙂... And, I see, you are not kidding this time....🙂...Agree, amazing details, indeed,...(Look at those lane markings on the freeways, and I can even see the "GEORGIA TECH" imprint on the football field...).... Of course, I've seen such things in Google Earth long before, but what's hard to believe is that I see your virtual plane flying over it...(and, not one of those aerial ad planes, carrying banners...on a football Saturday...)...!!

Hehe, I know right? its been way too long since I've been there...of course with the current times...things will probably be the same. They were say'in that back before other restaurant chains started doing that. 3 minutes ago, P_7878 said: Steve: With your "expert" set-up and resolutions, here, you seem to have got these, "Where's XYZ...?" queries, in MSFS, simplified for the rest of us...🙂... Of course, I've seen such things in Google Earth long before, but what's hard to believe is that I see your virtual plane flying over it...(and, not one of those aerial ad planes, carrying banners...on a football Saturday...)...!! You use the term expert way too loosely. 🙂 It just read around, tried a few setting changes, and went from there. In fact one tip I can pass out to other MSFS'ers out there struggling with the Atlanta area as far as stuttering and performance....TREES! Atlanta and the surrounding areas are full of 'em. If you have trees on high or ultra....knock it down to low....to me I hardly see the difference and cleared the stutter-fest in ATL (and I imagine it will work on other tree-infested areas the same way). At first I couldn't even fly in Atlanta comfortably with the stutter....I thought it was the complexity of the city itself, or that tiny, regional airport just to the south of it. 🤣 Turns out it was over-conifercation and over-desidiuousation (fancy terms for too many trees, LOL) that was causing the stutter. The details...oh my the details of this sim. I know most of it is just satellite imagery laid over a 3d mesh of the ground...and if you want to get hung up on that like some do here in this forum (or anywhere for that matter)....good on you. The point is the that end-result of what the simmer "sees" out the window is the only thing that should matter to us. It reminds me of one of my favorite lines from one of my favorite movies. "After nine years, you know what I realize? Ignorance is bliss". The character realizes that it unimportant how the steak he's about to ingest got on his fork, he only cares what his mind is telling him what it tastes like. 🙂 Do you know what movie I'm referring to? September 7, 20205 yr Steve: Recall seeing that movie only once in the theaters....Oh boy, 20 years have passed already....and, sorry, recall a bit more clearly only Keanu Reeves from it...(Do remember, though, Keanu Reeves' earlier movie "Speed" (the first one...!) a lot better...along with all the other characters...🙂...)....have been a bit slow in the movie department in recent years.... And, these days, can't even see the latest Top Gun and James Bond...in time...🙂.....anyway, saw the (much needed) precautionary measures while going to the movies these days...and I said to myself, I would pass for now....take care...
