September 25, 20214 yr I'll just link to my "investigation" on the other thread: Edited September 25, 20214 yr by Fiorentoni For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.
September 26, 20214 yr Memory leak is a serious coding issue. It isn't indicated by dropping FPS. It's indicated by increasing memory usage and the inability to free said memory after it's been consumed ultimately resulting in no memory being left available for the system. No, MSFS does not have a Memory Leak. You seem to be seeing an issue decreasing FPS over time but if you don't see your memory simultaneously being consumed and not released then there is absolutely no reason to think there is a memory leak in the code. I know it doesn't solve your issue but a memory leak is very specific, serious and easy to identify. We would know if the core program had a memory leak. Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk

Yes, exactly what psolk said. A memory leak means objects are being allocated in memory but it's not relinquished over time, meaning the memory usage keeps going up and up and up. If there is a memory leak over a several hour flight, you should see this is task manager. A memory leak can cause FPS to drop if your system runs out of memory. Having said that, if your memory usage is not going up (in task manager) after a several hour flight, and there is still a lto of free memory in task manager, then it's probably not a memory leak that is causing the dropping FPS. i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM
September 26, 20214 yr Someone told me to toggle ai traffic off and on, but have not tried it. Issue showed up after a 5-6 hour flight. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 96GB DDR5 | 4K G-Sync | Win11 Pro
September 26, 20214 yr Hi all Since live traffic has been awol for the past 3 days I have done 4 long haul flights of 5 to 6 hrs in duration and have had no degradation in performance 50 to 60 fps from start to finish. So it appears the issue is with live traffic which explains why when turning it off and then on again in mid flight fps is restored to normal values. Lets hope they have found this and thats why live traffic is now offline.
