Its not quite the Num7 smooth if you hold that in but it moves pretty quick I had to edit the ini file like this (originally only 1 and 2 exist, so i duplicated and incremented the numbers one by one), now to repeat for elev trim down edit/update: here is the final set that works pretty well. I guess now ill need to launch fs2020 from a batch file to force open fsuipic each time, since i'm lazy like that There is probably a simpler way to do this, but it seems to work. [Buttons] PollInterval=25 ButtonRepeat=20,10 1=RA,15,C65607,0 -{ELEV_TRIM_DN}- 2=UA,15,C65607,0 -{ELEV_TRIM_DN}- 3=RA,15,C65607,0 -{ELEV_TRIM_DN}- ... Yes, that's in the ballpark! September 24, 20205 yr Author Unfortunately my above script is doing something odd, at least at first, seems scrolling up it goes down pitch but if you move it up and down for a bit suddenly it goes the right directions. December 3, 20205 yr I agree, this is a PITA and it works just fine in X-Plane 11 but not in MSFS 2020. Unless MSFS installs some kind of repeat on the button I may just use the Trim wheel up down for gear up/down and use the grey switch I used for gear as my trim up down, The other one I use for flaps up down. If anyone finds a better answer to make this trim wheel work let us know.
July 4, 20223 yr Author Update on my old thread here but seems this no longer works in fsuipc.. although i may have an issue.. in the logging, if i log button presses, nothing shows, but axes do show. July 4, 20223 yr Let's say you are using Axis and Ohs. You can make one button trim up and one button trim down. Notice the choice of Fast, Med, and Slow. Just check a box. Nothing could be easier. You could assign 4 buttons to trim up slow, trim up fast, trim down slow, trim down fast. (This window is from my Rudder trim assignment buttons which work exactly as vertical elevation trim buttons would work). The above method uses 4 keys or buttons and is easy to understand and set up. I check the box 'repeat' for the two fast trim buttons, which means it keeps trimming as long as you hold down the button. I do not check 'repeat' for the slow trim buttons. Which means each button press advances the trim exactly one click. So I am holding down the 2 fast trim buttons to get pretty close to the trim point. And then tap the 2 slow trim buttons to get it exactly at the precise point where yaw direction is rock on stable and the compass does not move. It would work exactly the same for elevation. ====================================================================== The two windows.... 'Device' ....and....'Assigned Button or Key' : You just press any controller button or keyboard key and then both windows are filled in automatically for a command. Such as the trim up slow command. Such as 'CH Yoke device button #4. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. July 4, 20223 yr The first box above is only part of the screen for setting up button commands. There is another entirely different screen for axis commands. On that screen it is possible to make an axis work like a button, and there are options to tailor it. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. July 7, 20223 yr Author Ok, thanks, maybe ill give that program a shot. The only thing i was really using fsuipc for originally was for this purpose anyway. I guess using a lua is also possible though i dont know the ins and outs on that one. So i gave the app a try, loaded the sim, an aircraft, first i noticed it seems to be per aircraft, but then when i tried to roll the wheel, it did show up as button 14, i added the repeat fast command check box, clicked Add, but nothing happens, it didnt add the button command to the base window.. maybe im missing something here?
