There also some airports with 4k and PBR textures that consume a lot of VRAM (latinVFR and flytampa Las Vegas for example). 

That did the trick, Don't know why i had not thought of that.

Two questions: I have ORBX trees so will Teraflora add anything and do the two work together without a performance hit?

I use ASCS with AS P3D which requires cloud coverage to be set high. Could I use AS with EA set at medium for VRAM sake?

I'll uninstall ORBX trees and install Terraflora first and see.
