I was just trying to catch you in a moment of insanity while trying to figure this out and thought that swapping vid cards was a sound step in the troubleshooting process. 🙂

I already lost my sanity during the last weeks hunting for a 3080. But finally...

Regarding the second set GPU i'll give that a try tomorrow...got an old 1080ti somewhere...

Since then i hope you have a great evening flying!

I have posted a similar thread elsewhere on the forum. I have exactly the same experience, only I'm running an i7-10700@5Ghz and RTX3090! I fail to get anywhere above 35fps in any scenario and anything but smooth.

I have pretty lowly system compared to you folks, but I find the mooney works well for me at 1440p, UNTIL I turn on Recog lights, taxi lights and landing lights. During daylight hours the drop in performance isn't too bad, but at night my fps drops by 50% or more depending on the combination of lights. I find Recog and landing lights to be the most burdensome. Maybe this isn't the problem for you folks, but it seems to be the only performance issue I have with the Mooney.

I thought I read somewhere that the Mooney exterior lights have an effect on fps. You could try turning them off and see if that has any effect.

Oh wow.  I guess I'll continue waiting on a system that can it run it better.  You pretty much have top of the line specs.

Yeah, I know. But in fairness, I think it has got to be something to do with the aircraft model, surely?

Maybe.  But I don't see any issues on my lowly 4790k / 1080Ti.  I also don't fly at night a whole ton so if it's the lights maybe thats why.

I think I'll do some serious testing.

I don't have any issues with my i72600K, 32GIGS of RAM and Titan Pascal, but I'm using a 1080P monitor.

titan at 1080p hehe...  Although I suppose your historical cpu could be the limiting factor hehe.

No issues & locked @30 fps. This is a balanced system. 😀

I'm going off topic but man have you looked at that beautiful Titan RTX?  I think my wife would put a pillow over my mouth while I sleep if I bought that hahaha

I have only "thought" of it as I sleep, because only in my dreams have I come up with an RTX 3 series so far.
