October 4, 20205 yr I have updated my sim to v5, and I am still installing aircrafts and scenery. Today I tried to install some freeware scenery from Onfinal.dk. Everything seem to be ok, but when I press the ok button I get the following message; "Unable to open C:\Programdata\ Lockheed Martin\Prepar3d v5\Scenery.cfg for writing". Can anyone tell me what has happened or what I am doing wrong? The sceneries work fine in v4, and they are updated to v5. Tor Arild Danielsen
October 4, 20205 yr One cause may be that Prepar3d5 is still running in the background which it occasionally does after closing ot. So, look into task manager if it's still active, and if so, close it. Alternatievely reboot. The path as such is correct. October 4, 20205 yr Author I am adding the scenery from inside P3d, so the sim is running. I go to Scenery Library and choose "add". After setting the path (browsing) to the new scenery I press "ok" and after some seconds I get the massage. Tor Arild Danielsen
October 4, 20205 yr Moderator Try running P3D as Administrator and see if that makes a difference. ;Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
October 4, 20205 yr I also have a similar case with P3Dv5 from the beginning. Therefore I only use the P3DAddonOrganizer to add scenery, works very fine!

To the OP, the Lorby si addon manager can be downloaded here https://www.lorby-si.com/downloads.html It's freeware and you can also download the instructions in pdf form. Highly recommend it. John B
October 4, 20205 yr Author Thank you for good advices. Running the sim as Administrator solved the problem. I will look at Lorby-si. Tor Arild
