October 12, 20205 yr Hi All, I was interested to see that Just Flight continue to send development updates along for their new A300B4 that is expected to be v4 and v5 compatible. Based on the announcement and screenshots, I am wondering if you have some thoughts or impressions as to how much of a "study sim" this will be? https://www.justflight.com/product/a300b4-200 For me this is a steam driven gauges aircraft albeit with some rudimentary fly-by-wire functionality that I wouldn't mind mastering given this a generation before the A320 family came to the market. There's been hardly any coverage of this in the forums to-date so was wondering what your thoughts are? What do you expect are the important functionality/capabilities that would make this more of a study sim aircraft versus "hop in and fly"? October 12, 20205 yr Reading the announcement, I stumbled over this... 1. Authentic gauges and navigational equipment, including RMI (VOR/ADF) and HSI 2. Realistic autopilot system Based on this, what kind of navigation equipment will the A300 get? A300s have been certainly equipped with more then RMI and HSI. Then the term "realistic". That might mean a lot in terms of an Addon. For a study level Addon I would certainly expect a custom programmed AP with authentic behaviour. IMO a study level Airliner Addon without custom AP is not possible. Mike 1. A320 home cockpit (FSLabs, Skalarki), P3Dv5 Main PC : I7-12700K, GTX3080Ti 2. FSLabs A3xx, P3Dv5. October 12, 20205 yr There is an older version of the aircraft by SimCheck that I've used.. and a glass, later generation A300 on X-Plane. Judging by those, the airplane can be a bit of a handful. I hope the engineer's station is reasonably modeled, along with some aids to help manage the workload. There is a Carousel 4A INS, possibly with an aftermarket FMS option modeled. You should definitely practice some raw data skills before jumping in on this one.
October 12, 20205 yr Commercial Member I hope this will have good in-depth systems, but it looks great so far and I am really looking forward to its release. REX AccuSeason Developer REX Simulations
October 12, 20205 yr I own their Canberra, Vulcane, OneEleven, HS 748, Tri Star and C-46. Those addons differ a bit (or a lot?) n simulation depth. If the 300 is as good as the Canberra then I wiil be a happy guy. I also wait for their 747-100. Karl i9-9900K@5,0 | 32GB 3200 | 2080TI | 4K 55" | MSFS | P3D V5
