Turning off sharpening fixed the AA?

It has cured the jaggies for me at 1440.  I have scaling at 120 to 130 depending on scenery complexity, as I only have a 1080Ti, so need to try to hold 30 fps.

The in-sim sharpening set from the user config file was definitely making the jaggies worse for me.  I take it you haven't tried it yet?  Sharpening=1 to Sharpening=0 in the user config file?

I had to put a bit of sharpening back using the NVidia filters (mainly for the instruments), but that doesn't seem to clash and bring the jaggies back so much.

The real answer is for Aosbo to set it all back to how it was though of course.  It was perfect for me at launch.  I can't do 4k anyway with my card, but I didn't need to as 2k on my 4k moniitor was just great until they altered something.

According to the webcast they did, they also think they see it as well at Asobo, they just don't know what they have changed to cause this.  A bit like with the VFR map and settings page bugs I suppose! 🙄  I am beginning to wonder if there is a saboteur at Asobo! 😄

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

The only problem is, last time I looked for this config file, following the instructions given in some other thread, somewhere in Forum Land, I couldn't find the config file. I still can't. I have the Steam version, installed on a M.2 SSD.

Funny thing about the lightning bug: people mentioned it appearing with the previous patch and I never came across it; I thought it was supposedly fixed with this patch, but either way I'm now encountering it for the first time with the latest patch. I was over Manhattan with a few clouds here and there, some low-altitude ones. A single low cloud near the Freedom Tower was flashing and not a single other one. Must have been a special cloud.

If you download a really decent free search tool, like 'Everything' (link below).  You will find it.

That is how I found mine, as it is buried deep inside a really long folder path that I wouldn't even bother typing! 😄

UserCfg.opt file for Steam version is located here: "C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator".

Note: AppData folder is a hidden folder. If you do not see it in File Explorer, you need to check "Show hidden files, folder and drives" in File Explorer Options. Alternatively, if you do not want to change File Explorer options, you can simply type %appdata% in the path bar of File Explorer and hit enter.

Hope that helps,

It isn't. Not for me. That's what I was referring to in the first place, when I said I'd followed instructions in another thread but still couldn't find it. No idea where it's hiding, but not even in a hidden folder.

In fact, I thought I would have another look for it anyway and it is indeed in the folder now... Very odd that it was missing previously. Thank you.
