October 13, 20205 yr Buy the download version today and get it for £93.49 (Premium Deluxe) or £50.99 (standard) on the UK site. Suddenly got worth buying Premium Deluxe for me before my Game Pass trial finishes in a couple of weeks or so.👍 Question, if I buy it this way will my progress be saved from my Game Pass trial since I'll be entering a code via Microsoft Store to activate it? And will it simply turn my trial version to paid, or will I need to re-download the whole thing? I didn't spot that one. But did it require a paid Game Pass subscription? I'll be cancelling GP once my trial ends. October 13, 20205 yr Just a guess, but I reckon it would just patch it up to the full version. Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here

By "Keep working", do you mean keeping my progress so far or MSFS actually working in the first place? There was certainly much confusion (even at MS themselves) whether buying the update from the in-sim Marketplace would work if you then cancelled Game Pass, but I'd be buying a code from a 3rd party (Amazon) and using that in the MS Store, which is a different scenario. At the very least that method would simply mean a completely new installation, still accessed via the Xbox app (without the use of Game Pass). October 13, 20205 yr Be careful. They were selling the Premium/Deluxe/Premium Deluxe upgrades on the Gamepass site at near full price (what it would normally cost with the base game included)....but those didn't include the base game....so you had to keep your gamepass in order to use the premium content. Not sure if this is still true but there were some really word not allowed off people on the MSFS forum saying that it was really unclear what they were buying. Thanks, I am aware of all that as I was one of the people considering that option at the time. But this is not an upgrade through Game Pass, it's a full game code from Amazon themselves (not 3rd party seller). Check that link. So again, I can't see this being any worse than a completely new install which would lose me all my existing progress (which I would hate to happen). This should really be like buying the game through a bricks and mortar store, for example, then buying it via a code a second time - 2 separate purchases of the same thing, just that one is the complete version and one is the base package (and the base package was 'free'). If there is a 'Game Save' folder or file somewhere, I could simply copy that and then insert it into the new install if my progress was lost. But I don't know if it's user-accessible. Agree the Amazon link looks legit. I'm not sure about backing up progress. Nothing is simple with this sim. AMD 3950X | 64GB RAM | AMD 5700XT | CH Fighterstick / Pro Throttle / Pro Pedals
October 13, 20205 yr I bought Premium Deluxe with the gamepass 20% discount . I used the Xbox app and my Microsoft account now shows I own MSFS. Most of the issues seemed to be with people buying through the in game store. I haven't cancelled my game pass yet but like I said …..my MS account now shows I own the sim and the digital ownership. You still need the Xbox app to run the sim even if you own it. But that's part of a standard Windows install anyway. Game Pass is of course optional - pay for it or don't have it, much like Playstation Plus (though that is unfortunately essential for most online play 😠) The deal runs out at midnight UK time (under 5 hours from now), so if nobody can categorically tell me it'll work, I'll just have to take a gamble and fight it out with Amazon or MS later...🤞 OS: Win11 Home; Mobo: Asus TUF Gaming Z690-Plus WiFi D4; CPU: Intel i5-12400 (Alder Lake) 4.4 GHzRAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR4 64Gb (4x16GB) 3600 MHz; GPU: MSI Radeon RX 5700XT [8GB] SSD: Corsair Force MP510 (for OS); 2x 1TB & 1x 2TB Sabrent Rocket Nvme PCIe 4.0 (one for sim, two for addons)HDD: Seagate 3TB (Data); Seagate 1TB (Programs), ASUS TUF Gaming VG32VQ1B Curved 31.5" monitor, 1440p, 38Mbs ethernet Fulcrum One Yoke, Honeycomb Bravo throttle, Thrustmaster Airbus TCA sidestick & throttle, Logitech Pro pedals, Xbox wireless gamepad (1st gen)
