Remember LM and P3D will always put default values and settings to push performance at maximum posible. Gerald send me these settings to my email I will suggest LM to put them as default for the upcoming hotfix. Good job! I wanted to find this sweet spot but they released 5.1 before I could do it.. Everything happened too fast this week.. Regards, S. Hi, Could you please also suggest adding some more configuration entries to the VolumetricClouds.cfg or settings UI? Especially being able to control the downscaling (IIRC it's handled by BaseWeatherRenderer class in trueSKY SDK) and amortization (I assume it uses temporal reprojection similar to MSFS, check TrueSkyRenderer class in trueSKY SDK) options would help users to increase detail and reduce repetitiveness with more compromises. PC specs: i5-12400F, RTX 3070 Ti and 32 GB of RAM. Simulators I'm using: X-Plane 12, Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) and FlightGear.

I still recommend to not have much hopes - even LM might not be able to fix these. TrueSKY itself isn't so good for applications like flight simulators where drawing range is extremely large and clouds are observed from a high altitude. Many TrueSKY implementations looks good from the ground, but it is really tricky to get it right at a higher altitudes, without compromising performance and causing repetition. We asked already prior to release, I don't know if or when they might add more parameters but they were open to suggestions. S. October 30, 20205 yr Will the volumetricclouds.cfg file also rebuild when you delete it just like the prepar3d.cfg?

October 30, 20205 yr From the Simul website however this parameter is not in the .cfg so it must be adjusted somewhere by LM Edge Noise Wavelength Wavelength of the edge noise. (Great for hiding Grid Patterns) 0.1 to 100 Edited October 30, 20205 yr by rob0203

October 30, 20205 yr What is really a big thing is also that the sun reflects trough overcast layers. Really immersion breaking, just landed at EHGG with Visibility 2500 and OVC in METAR, but the sun is just shining on the PBR of the aircraft and ground textures. But for other topic 😉 Edited October 30, 20205 yr by rob0203

Also noticed that. That is not realistic at all. In my opinion it is still a beta. LM has a lot to tweak and rework. And I hope they will do it good but also let us not further 6 months waiting. Because all this EA I did expect in April 2020 as they brought it to 5.0 Regards, Marcus P.
