October 30, 20205 yr Author When using a weather engine ( in my case FSGRW ) the grid is a little less apparent as the whole image is not one same cloud view like with a weather preset from P3D itself. As Sharpness now looks good today I will look into the grid. Help from you guys is appreciated as there are multiple entries that seperately have to be tested with higher and lower values... 5950x3d 5.4-5.7 GHz - Asus ROG 870 Crosshair Apex - GSkill Neo 2x 24 Gb 6000 mhz / cas 26 - MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC - 1x SSD M2 6000 2TB - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 1Tb - Corsair 5400 case - Corsair 360 liquid cooling set - 3x 75’ TCL tv. 13600 6 cores @ 5.1 GHz / 8 cores @ 4.0 GHz (hypterthreading on) - Asus ROG Strix Gaming D - GSkill Trident 4x Gb 3200 MHz cas 15 - Asus TUF RTX 4080 16 Gb - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 2TB - 2x Sata 600 SSD 500 Mb - Corsair D4000 Airflow case - NXT Krajen Z63 AIO liquide cooling - FOV : 200 degrees My flightsim vids : https://www.youtube.com/user/fswidesim/videos?shelf_id=0&sort=dd&view=0

I posted a picture here with the addon FSGRW addon at EHAM this morning (dynamic weather. Yes it is less, but noticeable and more present compared to %.0HF2, or do you think it is equal? I did not use EA with HF2 so I do not know how an OC would have looked from high above the clouds. regards, Gerard 5950x3d 5.4-5.7 GHz - Asus ROG 870 Crosshair Apex - GSkill Neo 2x 24 Gb 6000 mhz / cas 26 - MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC - 1x SSD M2 6000 2TB - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 1Tb - Corsair 5400 case - Corsair 360 liquid cooling set - 3x 75’ TCL tv. 13600 6 cores @ 5.1 GHz / 8 cores @ 4.0 GHz (hypterthreading on) - Asus ROG Strix Gaming D - GSkill Trident 4x Gb 3200 MHz cas 15 - Asus TUF RTX 4080 16 Gb - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 2TB - 2x Sata 600 SSD 500 Mb - Corsair D4000 Airflow case - NXT Krajen Z63 AIO liquide cooling - FOV : 200 degrees My flightsim vids : https://www.youtube.com/user/fswidesim/videos?shelf_id=0&sort=dd&view=0

Great result already now. If you would like to share your settings, as it is, I will test this evening too. Also at the weekend I can take your parameters and play around with them...... Thanks, Marcus Regards, Marcus P.

October 30, 20205 yr Have clouds in flight simulation always had that "repeating pattern" problem? Gerard's second screenshot is a significant improvement over the first, but I can still see some repeating pattern underneath. October 30, 20205 yr I would say yes, the repeating pattern was preset in simulating the clouds in every sim version that i can remember off. October 30, 20205 yr Commercial Member The repeating patterns is something that we will always see, it is about performance.. Remember LM and P3D will always put default values and settings to push performance at maximum posible. Gerald send me these settings to my email I will suggest LM to put them as default for the upcoming hotfix. Good job! I wanted to find this sweet spot but they released 5.1 before I could do it.. Everything happened too fast this week.. Regards, S. Oficial Website: https://www.FSReborn.com Discord Channel: https://discord.gg/XC82TqvKQ3
October 30, 20205 yr Author It still is not how I want it. At one place it looks great. Then I change to another location and I see a grid again or weird looking clouds.. First I doubled the Sharpness value for Stratus and Cirrus. Then I used 1.9 for Cumulus and Cumulonimbus. The better looking clouds were with Worley Noise at 1.9 for both Cumulus and Cumulonimbus. We need a Cloud Smoothing where the grid appears..
