Have you a rough idea how many reinstalls you tried in what timescale before the message appeared? That could prove useful.

As posted earlier the message mentioned too many installs within 30 days.  I did about 6 installs but do not know the exact number.

@jfwharton, thanks. It appears to be a case of multiple installs in a short period of time which could point to the product being used in a non-standard way.

So installing 3 or 4 times in a year or more should not trigger the event but clearly that is just an educated guess.

Don't know.  But it seems to track the number of installations within a 30 day period.  Makes me wonder if I wait a month would I be able to install the aircrafe?  I will try but most likely once that message comes up all further installs are blocked unless the server is reset.  So I hope I am able to get a refund cause I don't believe I will ever be able to install this aircraft again.

You've nothing to lose by trying an install. Maybe, just maybe he will check on server resets and do the honourable thing. He's clearly a very clever chap so it's a complete mystery why his project has been abandoned. Barring the obvious one of course.

According to whois the domain was renewed/updated May 2020, so someone is at the helm. Even if the domain was set to auto-renew a valid credit card is clearly active and chargeable.

He didn't remember the actual period but I'm guessing probably 30 days maybe given what the message said.

Thank you for helping with this.  If the issue will go away that is great.  But I already started the dispute on the purchase with my bank to try to get a refund, so I don't want to stop that and miss a window of opportunity.  If only Sean had responded to my emails or better yet corrected the issue on the server.  So now what to do.

In the light of what has been revealed by @Rogen it might be reasonable to cancel your refund request. The reasons why Sean hasn't responded are clear in this message which you may not have read.

@Ray Proudfoot do you think it would have been possible for a user to back up files manually prior to uninstalling? Just in case.

I also thought that an uninstall with internet connection would yield an extra install. No sure if this is how it works.

I don't know what files are placed on the system apart from the obvious Addon folder. There are Registry entries to consider too. A backup of the entire system is preferable to individual aircraft / scenery areas.

How the checking system works is known only by Sean. It's hugely reassuring to know that install locks are released after a period of time. It shows a great deal of thought has gone into the process.

Whilst it's desperately sad news about Sean's wife it's very reassuring to hear he's still around. I did wonder if the worst had happened. It gives me hope that he may return to the DA62 at some point and add extra features such as rainfall radar and making it compatible with P3Dv5.

I don't normally buy GA aircraft but I was so impressed with the quality of this aircraft I couldn't resist it. It's truly deserving of the high praise it's received in the flight sim world. Kudos to Sean in creating an aircraft that is up with the very best from PMDG, FS Labs and A2A. 👍

As an update I am still not able to reinstall the Vertx da62.  In two more days it will be 30 days since purchasing the aircraft, so in three days I will try to install again.  If I can install it I will cancel the purchase dispute I filed.  But if I cannot the dispute will go through and hopefully I will get my refund.  So in three days we will see how things work out.

Update.  Today I decided to try to install the Vertx da62 and was successful.  Yeah!  I cancelled the purchase dispute accordingly.  So for future reference if anyone has this issue the wait period to reinstall the aircraft is 30 days. It's nice to be able to fly this aircraft again.
