November 9, 20205 yr Default scenery.....just blows me away. Have not really made it to Europe yet, except some required flights at LOWI. Can't wait to explore over there more. 🙂 Southern Cal....even before the US patch is mostly stunning (you've seen the shots outta BUR....about to post more, had to fly the plane back to KBUR...it was a rental) 🤣 Needless to say...great shots! November 9, 20205 yr Florence is really a nice and cultural city, a joy to visit with all its monuments and museums. Rome is also very well represented in MSFS and additionally there are several specific areas like Ariccia (Lazio), to the southeast, near the Ciampino Airport that has a detailed photogrammetry area addon available here: https://flightsim.to/file/3094/ariccia-latium Another interesting place to fly over on Rome's border is the area of Parco de Medeci, the avenue via de la Magliana, the ESSO building, the Holiday Inn, etc., available here: https://flightsim.to/file/3059/rome-ansa-del-tevere-parco-de-medici Italy is a very nice place to visit and fly and beautifully represented in MSFS. I'd suggest Florence and Naples. Of course Naples has scenic Mt. Vesuvius!
November 9, 20205 yr ooohhhhh...that's right....actually been to Naples already....actually flew over it in real life when I was in the Navy...and of course had to do it in the sim... (Although in real life I was in an SH-3 Seaking helicopter...and flew right over it at about 500 feet.) 🙂 Regards, Steve DraGet my paints for MSFS planes at flightsim.to here, and iFly 737s hereDownload my FSX, P3D paints at Avsim by clicking here

Sweet! Yokosuka? My sister and her husband were stationed there back when they were in. She made Warrant and he then had to salute her when they were in uniform together....that went over well as you can imagine. 🤣 Did a quick group flight to Fiji when Japan 1st released...have not been back since...but on the looooong list of places to fly. Not to get too far off the reservation...but what did you do in the Marines and when were you in? Not to get too far off the reservation...but what did you do in the Marines and when were you in? I was doing infantry training for 2 weeks at Camp Fuji in Japan. We trained right next to Japanese soldiers it was neat. Got to go to Tokyo Disney world also. I was stationed in Okinawa for a year and spent 3 months at Osan AFB in Korea. I was a radar repair MOS we had a radar that locked on to aircraft and guided it to the target and sent audible tones to tell the pilot when to drop ordinance. I was in 88 to 93 wish I would have stayed in sometimes but we always look back fondly on our youth.
November 9, 20205 yr Author Did all our traveling in a C-130 used to stand by the little window in the back so I could see out the plane I always loved looking out of plane windows lol

My brother was stationed in Guam and did some TAD trips to Okinawa (He was in Crypto maintenance and worked on some pretty rare, secure gear peppered throughout the world...so got to do that a lot. He went in a year before I did I can remember the FBI coming to our house doing a background check on him...about 2 weeks before I went in. When they showed up I thought I did something wrong (I answered the door and they flashed their badges...scared the KRAP outta me, LoL). I did radar training in my C school but never worked on em in the fleet...just com/nav and ASW gear. When I flew to/from Bahrain it was on a C5/C141...nary a window to look out of. 😞 (very small observation one up in the wing where we were sitting.) I was too busy freezing my butt off to worry about looking out the window...LOL Anyone's who's flown MATS can relate. November 9, 20205 yr Author My MOS got canned when I had six months left so I did MIMMS ordering parts for the communications electronics guys. I hated all that paperwork lol. Our radar looked like a golf ball on a tee. It was probably 25 feet high but we could lower it to work on it. I was crappy at electronics so I became a corrections officer when I got out and retired a Lieutenant. One of my CO friends owned his own plane and used to take me flying like 10 years ago. He just died last year unfortunately
