Patch 1.10.11.0 - missing ILS approaches

Featured Replies

My "update" went smoothly ... but, as with previous patches, it appears some things get fixed while other (previously working) things get broken.

My typical departure/arrival airport is Auckland, NZ (NZAA) and I'm surprised to see all my ILS approaches have disappeared. I don't use the rolling cache and I've tried with and with out all Community add-ons - and after numerous sim and PC restarts.

Anyone else losing any approaches?

Is there any way I can force a Navdata refresh/reload?

Adam.

Hi Adam,

I've loaded into NZAA and have the following approaches:

VORDME 05R W
VORDME 23L W
LOC 05R W
RNAV 05R T
RNAV 23L S
RNAV 23L U
RNAV 23L V
RNAV 23L W
RNAV 23L X
RNAV 23L Y

Checking with Navigraph charts - These seem to be correct and there isn't any missing from what I can see.

Thanks, Matt ... I used to have ILS approaches listed - however, should I be using RNAVV or VORDME instead?

You could probably use RNAV in this situation. Looking at the Navigraph charts again - It seems like this could be due to work taking place within the latest AIRAC month. As it states the following:

It's possible the ILS approaches may return in the next AIRAC update assuming the work has been completed and they bring them back online.

Matt - what an amazing source of info you are! Thanks!

I seem to remember seeing a story in the news that NZAA is using the "down time" caused by COVID to push through some runway upgrades. It's possible that the current AIRAC is [correctly] reflecting that scenario. There's realism for you!!!

That would be (is) impressive. This simulator even simulates airport maintenance in real time!

I am now missing all approaches to KSEE and KFHR - Navigraph shows them but when either airport is my flight plan destination and I click on PROC while in flight I find No Approach listed for either airport - they are my two favorite destinations and I have used the approaches to each of them many times - UNTIL the most recent update

KSEE LOC-D to Rwy 21 or RNAV (GPS) RWY 17 were two I have used extensively

KFHR RNAV (GPS) Rwy 34 was my usual approach there

Navigraph says it's charts are up to date

I find approaches for other airports while using them as a destinations

How do I verify what database (airnc?) is being used by the sim?

I forced Navigraph to update.

Navigraph shows the proper approaches - it is just the G1000 in the sim that does not show the approaches

Navigraph FMS data manager tells me it is up to date

Just saying the same thing happened to me and the way I got it back was to erase the Navigraph data, which forces it to update.  Likely during the update it injects fresh into MSFS.  Because I was missing Navigraph approaches in MSFS before I did it, and they were back again after I did it.
