November 19, 20205 yr Hello, I am a new user and just purchased the RXP GTN650 to use on my FSX Steam edition. The GPS does not urn on and shows a black screen. I looked at the power options and have it as Always ON. Here is my log file: 20/11/19 10:58:14.211 02536 - ] # rxpGtnSim32.dll version 2.5.27.0 20/11/19 10:58:14.210 02536 INFO ] 20/11/19 10:58:25.556 02536 ERROR] trainer not found or not supported// The Not supported must be the issue but I tried various FSX airplane models and get the same response. Thanks for your help

It says it can't find any supported trainer. Have you skipped the trainer installation during the RXP software installation? Otherwise do you have the GTN installed and if so, which version is it?
November 25, 20205 yr Author Hello. Yes I skipped the trainer installation as it is installed on my PC, version 2.7.1 (Only GTN installed)
November 26, 20205 yr 4 hours ago, Fares said: Any suggestion? I would suggest you uninstall both the GTN and the Garmin Trainer, then download the eCommerce GTN 650 installer from the RXP product home page, then reinstall through the F1 wrapper process, and install the Garmin trainer through that process. That should successfully link the two together. I highly recommend installing to the default locations. February 9, 20215 yr Fares, fpilot and RXP President: with adequate communication of issue(s) and clear advise--we can fix things, thanks! I checked my log and somehow a conflict with the trainers occurred. I deleted and reinstalled the Garmin Trainers (GNS and GTN) and my equipment works. Fares, Happy Flying! Out.
February 9, 20215 yr Okay, the equipment turned on but no topo map. How do I get it back? Delete the Garmin trainer, GTN 750 and 650 and reinstall? February 9, 20215 yr FPStewy and Bert: Okay, reloaded the GTN 750; excluded the file in Defender -- GTN 750 and 650s in my ACs seem to be working. But I will only say it is working now. Unbelievable frustrating. The forum can be great as you have shown, but, when you don't know, you go with the best option. Your advise, which I'm confident comes from experience, worked! I've never had such issues with a flight sim and third party items. I have lost an enormous amount of time this last year since coming to X Plane attempting to fly GA in VFR and IFR and with GNS/GTN equipment. It doesn't count for flight time but it has, and can be, great familiarization. Thank you. My two day/ eight hour ordeal appears to be over. It seems I will be able to fly when I turn on X Plane instead of troubleshooting issues.

It is unfortunate but we've submitted our files to Windows Defender and awaiting for them to "white list" them.
