Jitter/shake during banking and looking to the side?

Featured Replies

Has anyone else noticed that while turning/banking and looking sideways (e.g. base to final turn) there's a rendering jitter/shake?

I have only noticed this since version 1.10.11.0, and have never had this issue in the past.

Example 1

Example 2

I started a bug thread on the official forums.

UPDATE: I just noticed that this seems to happen only if your cockpit zoom level is above 50. If you zoom the camera view from 40 to 60 you'll see there's a "rotation" introduced starting around the 50 mark.

At least it's not just me. Please vote on the topic. It's very annoying and distracting when turning and looking into the turn.

I got  jitter/shake yesterday in a 152 when I set the game up for a bush landing with a 35 knot crosswind gusting to 80 odd knots 😄  Fortunately the game gives the 152 lots of rudder authority close to the ground.

On a more SERIOUS note, on my system running ultra with trackIR i have not noticed any oddities panning sideways.

You can test this easily. Go into a 45 degree bank, "active pause", and pan (maybe with the mouse) about 45-60 degrees to the left. Observe the edge of the screen to see if you have any shaking. I at first throught it was TrackIR, but even with it off, I have the same issue.

Not on my PC with the game installed just at present but will check it out.

I just noticed something interesting... this seems to happen only if your cockpit zoom level is above 50.

Noticed the same almost from the beginning back in September, and not only while turning your aircraft.

I just recently changed my camera zoom (after some FOV experiments) to 55, and that's when it started. Confirmed here:

This is just one of many baked-in effects that the devs keep insisting on. I do wish they would come to an understanding that these effects are always overdone, lacking in subtlety and just communicate a desperation to add in pointless tricks to somehow persuade sim pilots that they are creating an "immersive" experience. It's not immersive. It's just bloody annoying!

It is terrible. Happens at zooms below 50 for me. It is so shaky and annoying. Has happened since Aug 18.

This is not the same as camera shake. Camera shake happens when there are forces acting on the aircraft. This happens in "active pause" which causes simulation to stop. So i think this is unrelated to head movement simulation.

OK fair point. But it did give me the opportunity to comment on something related, which is baked in effects.

The zoom over 50 is for sure helping. I took it back to 46 not stutters or shakes.

Thanks for the tip Still should be fixed.
