It looks like Asobo is better, but for those having ImagineSim's already, how good/bad is it's performance wise?.

Cheers, Ed

Hi Ed,

can't really say I've noticed any difference between them, to be honest. I'm running with a 3950x and Titan though so I may not be the best judge.

Ryzen 9 7900X, Corsair H150 AIO cooler, 64 Gb DDR5, Asus X670E Hero m/b, 3090ti, 13Tb NVMe, 8Tb SSD, 16Tb HD, 55" Philips 4k HDR monitor, EVGA 1600w ps, all in Corsair 7000D airflow case. Sims in use - 2020, 2024, XP-12 and -11, FSX/SE, P3Dv4.5 and v5.4. DCS and AFS2 installed but rarely used

I bought the ImagineSim version when it came out. Personally, I think the new version in the USA update is better, but that's just my opinion. Thought I'd post some comparison pics for anyone interested.

Hi Frank,

all settings the same for all shots (unless MSFS got in and changed anything, but I don't think that was the case) - ultra or higher (LOD) and 4k screenies

Then in my judgement the MSFS looks perceptibly better.

I'm putting the nod to Asobo as well....and if for nothing else....it was $0.  And the one part I've been checking for correct elevation since the dawn of flightsim time is the small gully the maintenance facility sits in, that if you ever taxied by on taxiway Echo, on your way to 26L, you'd clearly see the line of Delta tails almost at eye level as they are lined up against the hill adjacent from the massive hangar.

Asobo got this right....FINALLY.  Imaginesim's is there but its not correct (a constant downhill all the way to the hangar...which if was like that in real life at the angle they created it, if the brakes ever failed on a towed 777 it would smash into the hangar for sure.)

This may be a little detail, but to me, it makes such a difference when I recreate the literally 100's of times I taxied by that area when I flew in/out at least once a week for years at Hartsfield.

Don't know what to tell IS other than they better bring a better bat to the plate from now on...folks are going to be much more critical of payware airports when Asobo can push out quality like this.

Speaking of that...the Dallas (KDFW) update, while good, is not as good as they did with KATL I believe (I live a few miles from it and it was the main destination of my flights out of Atlanta before the hospital I was contracting at here finally hired me).  I'm sincerely hoping that @virtuali is reading, knows that if nothing else, if he decides to bring his wonderful KDFW into MSFS, he has at least 1 confirmed customer. 😉
