TDM Scenery Design - South America

Featured Replies

Just wondering if anyone is familiar with the scenery creator.  They have two in Venezuela available one of which is free ware and they look good...on their site. just thought I'd ask before downloading and installing.

Anyone who's interested in South America should also check out SierraSim's msfs2020 airports for Columbia. The mountains approach 20,000' and the msfs countryside is spectacular as are the airport locations. if you like high altitude airports and interesting approaches check them out. Still on sale today. While not quite in the league of Fly Tampa or FSDT they are still good and for the money are a great buy.

I'm familiar with the two guys in front of TDM Scenery Design. They're both venezuelans. They're both very good in this business (I mean scenery creation). I highly recommend both sceneries (SVBI Barinas - freeware and SVSO Buenaventura Vivas in Tachira State - payware, but at a very reasonable price at the Marketplace).

And I think you're right. SierraSim is very active in developing scenery for Colombia and Ecuador. Highly recommended. It's developing product cycle is really short (and good).

I know it's on their job list, but this probably will take time as TDM's team is just about three people now.

SVMI stands for Maiquetia Simon Bolivar International Airport and is the main international airport of Venezuela, 60 Km away from Caracas (the capital), to the northern coast of the country.

Hi Ed. Thanks for the reply.

Just wondering if you know how to install the freebie. There are several files but i don't know what to do with them. Thanks.

I'd like to support these guys but I'd sure like to see what this scenery looks like first plus being older and retired I will never be accused of being the sharpest knife in the drawer when it come to computers...but I usually muddle through fine.....

This is a real interesting part of the world to fly and somewhere I had never really spent much time in except the Quito payware airport for P3d. With the navigraph charts and approach plates it is fun flying plus in msfs the scenery can be spectacular.

Hi Dave:

Just do like any other scenery add-on for MSFS. Check first if your downloaded version for SVBI Barinas is the latest, v1.10, unzip the file and then look inside the folder structure for the sub-folder named "tdm-svbi" and place this sub-folder together with the included 7 files and sub-folders (4 files and 3 sub-folders) on your MSFS Community folder. That's all.

If you like the mountain environment, place yourself at Runway 11 at SVFM (La Carlota airport, now named Francisco de Miranda) and take off. Follow the takeoff heading for about one or two minutes and then try a 180 deg left turn to fly with a 280-285 deg heading over the city of Caracas with the "Avila" mountain to your right (be careful not to be so close). MSFS made an excellent depiction of the city of Caracas to a point that when I first saw the city I thought that maybe someone from Asobo lived in the city for some time in the past. You'll see emblematic buildings, two skyscrapers to your left, some stadiums and the city itself. Look also for a building on top of the mountain to your right (the Humboldt Hotel). Lastly, follow a 285-290 deg heading until you start to see the sea coast to your right, so you can do a right turn over the Avila mountain and fly over the Venezuela's main international airport SVMI going north. Try to use a sunny weather preset to appreciate the beauty of the scenery, well done by Asobo.

Sorry to hear that. I am unable to make a successful purchase through the marketplace. Was on the phone for an hour with MS trouble-shooting, got nowhere, then was disconnected either intentionally or unintentionally.

This marketplace is a disaster in so many ways
