December 13, 20205 yr Last night's adventure was from Dunedin to Queenstown, NZ. I set the weather to be cloudless as I was "touring". Slogged up to 9000 feet in the C172. Scenery was nothing special but the lakes looked good. ATC decided to fly me into a mountain by insisting a 3000 ft descent. lol Used RNAV to 05 (as in the sim) which takes you in a 270 loop. Turned onto a sort of final at 7500 feet. Wow, what a beautiful view. The descent was a real joy with its twists and turns. The town itself was disappointing but Queenstown airport is specially modelled. Not perfect but the most scenic approach I have done in the sim.

My house in the sim, though accurately placed, shaped, and sized is entirely the wrong color and the roof shows a shingle type more at home in Miami than North Carolina. And can we talk about the grass?!? If I let my grass grow as tall as it is in the sim, I’d be getting nasty-grams from the home owner’s association! ....uninstalling May I ask, politely, if your house is represented better -- or at all -- in any other sim?

What can you tell me about the sceneries in general and are addons worth buying? Hola, in the US & Europe I find the default airports are quite good already. I've purchased 4 add-on airports and they're better than default airports but sometimes not by that much really. In terms of comparing airports developed for P3D versus MSFS I think I agree with your opinion. BUT, and it's a massive but, the default airports are vastly better than P3D's default airports, as I say a least in Europe & US, and now that I think of it Mexico as well in a few places I've been. So pretty much like land-class based luck of the draw in the other sims. What's remarkable is that vast parts of the world are done very very well indeed, so no surprises there will be 'total fails' here and there. My understanding is the MSFS system of creating airports is better overall if you are starting from scratch but you are not going to see much of a difference if the airport is just an import from another sim as the majority of the work was done in the SDK for the other sim.
