Holy cow. Thanks for reminding me. Wanted to fly along Hana Hwy after the update but completely forgot about that. Something for the coming weekend

I flew from Molokai to Oahu this evening (not live). Had time set at 16:30. Sun was just reaching horizon. Water was featureless, but that could just be because the Sun was too low

Are there palm trees? More than a few here and there?

Southern California and the small Pacific islands I have gone to have large areas with mostly palm trees, especially beaches and costal areas, but in MSFS those areas have few to no palm trees other than horrible photogrammetry from palm tress that look nothing like palm trees, but are very distracting and unrealistic. And there's tons of huge green deciduous trees all over LA/Southern California that are NOT common in reality.

That’s the ocean everywhere. It’s horrible. Unless the winds are like 50 knots, the seas are like a glass pond. 😞

Will check Hana hwy once I landed the cfbw modded neo in Copenhagen. Need some warmer weather anyway

EDIT well nice, flight to Hana PHHN took me 12 mins in the TBM, water pretty calm despite live weather

I don't have a problem with the water. The waves look great when I use live weather. My issue has always been with the water colors in the tropics.

Flew there last night and turned the wind up to see how much lift I was getting off the mountains.  Not as much lift as I was expecting from a 20 knot wind though TBH.

The first place I flew when I bought the sim was around Maui. For 25 years I visited to free-dive the SW coast. I was hugely disappointed to see how barren the whole area looked. Maybe we only get the masks streamed when we use live Wx? My flight last PM did give me a great replication of the refracted, split Sun that you sometimes see on the horizon of the ocean when filtered through thin clouds. This title deals you disappointments and then turns around and throws something spectacular at you. It’s definitely a love/hate relationship!
