...and coming back to question, Justflight is currently fixing and extending the FMS. This is a confirmed bug. 

@Torsen, which sim please? I can then move this to the relevant forum.

The BAe 146 pro is p3d v4/v5 only. The bug is in both versions.

Yes, it is still present. All updates so far did not cover the FMS

Oh, that's a bummer. One wonders how they missed such a thing.. I sure hope they fix it for the times I don't feel like just going VOR to VOR.. =)

currently you have to fiddle around a bit to get a suitable route with selectable SIDs/STARs. Usually those at the beginning of the alphabet are selectable and those at the end of the alphabet are not selectable.

Some examples of routes that work fine :
