just about to get a 2nd monitor for use with MSFS - just wondering how I will be able to use it.....wanting to use it not to create a wrap around cockpit but mainly for pop up instruments, maps (like little nav map - running outside MSFS) and also maybe external views - main monitor will be used for the cockpit........just wondering if this is possible and the best way to set it up? (presume I need to select the 2nd monitor as the non primary from my desktop then I select window(not full screen) in sim?) - forgot to mention will be running one monitor via HDMI the other via display port

I want to do the same as you. I will use my main monitor for MSFS and the second monitor for Vpilot, Navigraph charts viewer etc.

I have read that the MSFS should be in windowed mode in order to be able to use the second monitor. If so, will there be the any borders around the picture in windowed mode? I don’t want to see any borders because I think it will kill the immersion. Is it possible to run MSFS in windowed mode and still see it fullscreen?

I run in full screen on my main monitor and use my second monitor for apps without problems.

I use 2 monitors, main one is msfs and is full screen so no borders, works well!

Are you popping out windows to it  from MSFS (such as MSFS VFR Map)? If so that's a known issue and unavoidable. I don't pop out any MSFS windows.

Instead on my second monitor I runs FS-Flight Control maximized, NeoFly Maximised, AIG-TC, etc.  and tab between them using bottom taskbar as needed. Just remember that when you click on something outside of MSFS, you have to click back inside MSFS to bring focus back to it. Control assignments don't work until you do.

That’s odd, no fps change for me whether I run one monitor or 2.
