Nvidia 30 series stock to improve.

Recommended Posts

Out of frustration and a bit of desperation, I just signed up in evga's queue for a rtx 3080.  Though it'll likely be months, I figure by the time I get that 3080 I could use their 90 day step-up program to get a 3080 ti...it'll be released by then...right? 🤔

From what I've been reading, crypto mining will continue to suck the gcard supply dry for months.  🤬

What exactly is mining w/ a GPU?

I give, how come nVidia doesn't ramp up supply?

Out of all the cards, RTX3090FEs are the easiest to come by. I know Best Buy does a drop every two weeks for the Founders Edition around the same time at MSRP. I picked up mine and two weeks later I grabbed one for my friend.  No magic was used except auto refresh during the time they upload. Seeing they are not as popular they didn’t run out for 15-20 minutes on those days. I run 4K and have gotten MSFS2020 to almost 12gb with a mix of Ultra and High Settings and in P3Dv5 in the 717 using the new 4K VC textures I average 10.6gb. I for one am glad I have the extra vram.

They can`t the FAB`s are working flat out but each year more things use chips made in the FAB`s around the world the two Game Consoles are top priority and they also make the AMD chips that you can`t buy, apple has a massive order for chips next year more than 60% of the 3nm. and mining is the big elephant in the room the price has shot up by over $10,000 in the past few month so $2,000-3,000 for a GPU is not a problem, I hate to say this but we need the price to drop or crash they are only worth what someone is willing to pay.

Extremely high demand + far too little supply = outrageous prices.

Given that digital currencies such as Bitcoin are increasing in value due to government policies of printing money and giving it to its citizens, the digital currency mining community is getting larger, placing even more demand on suppliers of computers and computer components.

Dan, what the heck are you talking about?  How does one know when BB 'does a drop'? I"ve looked at BB not less than 20 times and it's always 'sold out'.

Noel, users have been following the trend since the 3080's have been initially release. It's no secret that Best Buy drops at certain times. Are you trying to get one?

Oh great thanks for that I had not read this yet here which is odd as I visit often.  Anyway thanks for the heads up.  It's absolutely more than I need, but what I'm using now isn't enough, and I am a 'buy n hold' kind of user so would cough up retail price for an FE at this point.  I feel like the proposed 12Gb 3080Ti isn't sufficient for VRAM, and I like nVidia so that sums it up.

If this matters to us....

I wonder where the raw "Material" come from and who`s owning it

Reading about the rush to go all electric and reading  about car assembly line being halted because the lack of electrical component even the F35 has problem finding material for the complex wiring needed and the race  trying to find other suppliers  in different countries .

Wonder where the video card dilemma`s place "is"  in this stack.

Just trying to see the big Picture!

Who`s who?

And  "where" are we  connected to all this?

(Hope I made myself clear enough)

Best
