December 21, 20205 yr So why asobo have broken the clouds? They seems now very ugly after 5 months from release. C. Uygar Aircraft Maint. Engineer. at LTFJ
December 21, 20205 yr you may raise a ticket through MS zendesk and ask them. it has been discussed here intensly already but nobody here will have an answer but just guessing Phil Leaven i5 10600KF, 32 GB 3200 RAM, ASUS 4070 12GB EVO, Asus ROG Z490-H, 2 WD Black NVME for each Win11 (500GB) and MSFS (1TB), Rolling Cache 16GB, Photogrammetry always OFF, Live Weather and Live Traffic always ON, Res 2560x1440 on 27"
December 21, 20205 yr They are being reverted to the original ones at the next update (tomorrow), as some people with older cards are having problems with them flashing also. December 21, 20205 yr Commercial Member You could try turning off post process sharp. For my case it worked quite well. There is info around how to do that, or click here (at the bottom of the article) : http://www.estassinos.com/flight-simulator-settings/ __________________________________________________________________________________________ My FS Photos - My MSFS Settings - i7-14700K / 64GB RAM / MSI 4070 Ti SUPER / 1440p

Although some people say they had grainy clouds to start with, so we will have to wait and see. Sometimes I think our expectations are a bit higher than they can achieve with the current hardware (to keep a decent frame rate). Yeah, on the other hand i prefer them to stay as they are instead of loosing FPS ... __________________________________________________________________________________________ My FS Photos - My MSFS Settings - i7-14700K / 64GB RAM / MSI 4070 Ti SUPER / 1440p

December 21, 20205 yr Author Anyone tried anti aliasing transparency - supersample (4×) via ncp? At official forum some users had tried this and said it was worked. I ll try when back home... C. Uygar Aircraft Maint. Engineer. at LTFJ

I ll try when back home... I have this disabled in NCP, but super sampling actually works in the sim now. I have it set at x6 (along with AF x16) and it reallty straightens out the runway lines in the distance, whereas AF on its own only does half of the job. Unfortunately though, SS x6 doesn't get rid of the grainy clouds completely. I only see the graininess in certain conditions and light levels (normally when the sun hits the clouds face on I think), but it is one of the minor issues I find easy to overlook. I also find clouds at 'high' rather than 'ultra' look better to me. On ultra they look too lumpy. It must be tough for Asobo with so many differing opinions out there! 😁 Edited December 21, 20205 yr by bobcat999 Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). December 21, 20205 yr Those blurry clouds have been with us since the Alpha...the only fix I've seen that actually works is setting sharpening to 0 config file. But this comes at a price...it makes some parts of the sim not as sharp.
December 21, 20205 yr It was mentioned, that the cloud pixels will only be fixed with DX12 coming with the XBox release in about 6 months. Sharpening to 0 helps a bit, but not really on my end.... Most of what is said on the Internet may be the same thing they shovel on the regular basis at the local barn.

The sim reverts it back to 1 as soon as you restart so you need to make sure the file permissions are also changed to make the file read only this way the setting is preserved after.
