Finally a feeling of inertia

Featured Replies

To me this is the most important update since release.

Move your reactivity sliders to the left and finally have a feeling of inertia in the sim!

Together with the extremity deadzone this is a complete game changer for me. It revolutionizes the handling in MSFS - no paper-plane-feeling anymore.

This really makes me happy - thanks Asobo!

For starters I suggest to set your reactivity to 0 for pitch, roll and yaw. You can later move it up again if it feels too sluggish. Add an extremity deadzone of 50 for pitch and 25 for yaw (I leave roll at 0). Sensitivity -50 for pitch, roll and yaw. Then finetune from there.

Did they add "Inertia" to the list of fixes in this Update?

Took a quick read and didn't see it listed.

Would be a nice addition!

Reducing the reactivity setting at least gives the feel of inertia when controlling the aircraft - something I never felt before in MSFS.

Is it not just akin to input lag?

True. I don't think they really changed the inertia itself in the sim. But the new reactivity setting gives the feeling of inertia when the aircraft reacts to control inputs.

Is it reversed? Tried reducing reactivity to 5% and my C172 handled like a Tornado. Putting it up to 100 restored that familiar flying brick feeling.

I don't really understand wha the 2 new settings do. I fly with a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro, what settings would you recommend I start off with? I am curious about the more realistic feelings that these 2 new settings give us.

So setting it to 100 makes it handle like the F4 Phantom ??   😄

Start at 50% on both and tweak them to your liking from there. 👍

Exclude the throttle of course. 😁

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Totally agree, this for me is the best feature of this great update.

It's blank for me, not sure why.

Make sure you have your joystick selected first before going to 'sensitivity'.  If that doesn't work, a fresh reboot of your computer can make the new settings / update run properly.  👍

Surprised that is not mentioned anywhere...

It was mentioned in the release notes, or do you mean not mentioned by users? Most are only busy complaining 🙂

I am at 50% extremity and 20% reactivity and i get good feeling from the planes...But i wonder if this is really closer to the real thing...any RL pilots that would test that, would be helpful.
