Load a flight plan but NOT start on Runway?

Featured Replies

Could some kind fellow pilot remind me how to load a (SimBrief) Flight Plan but spawn at the gate and not ready to roll on the runway?

Ready to take the 747 on a trans atlantic but don't relish sitting there for some time programming the FMC waypoints but still want to go from cold and dark.

Thanks in advance.

What, even after loading the flight plan from an externally produced (Simbrief for instance) plan?

I thought that plonked you on a runway without asking if you did that?

once you load you flightplan, then use the dropdown menu to select a gate/parking spot.

Great. Many thanks chaps.

Hold my beer - I'm taking the big one - 747 - across the pond.

I'll be fretting all the way waiting for the FMC to 'drop' the ball and probably go blank when I assign the STAR into KBOS though, leaving me at FL370 with no idea where the hell I am.

And currently, with VOR totally INOP in the 747 (Salty or default) I hope the METAR is good!

Thank you all.

If you are using the latest FBW A320 mod, don't load the flightplan in the MSFS flightplanning screen. Just select the airport and departure gate. Once you are in the sim at the gate, you can load the flightplan from Simbrief in the MCDU. If you do it is way, it will load a lot more info than just the fp. It will also include fuel and payload values. It works pretty well. You'll need to request clearance from ATC.
