January 7, 20215 yr there was a hiccup with the FSDT server in Australia where i live, it was giving me download speeds of around 18KB/sec, it is now back to 4MB/sec (on my link), looking forward to enjoy my recent $purchases from the FSDT sale, heaps of new P3Dv5+ airports, will work very well with how i've setup Traffic Global & Super Traffic Board (& no MediaFire style downloads required) - i like supporting payware 3PDs!...

Advice was provided about this on the somewhat inflammatory post you made yesterday, there is no such thing as a FSDT server. I hope you managed to reflect on some of Virtuali's points. I am sure you would have apologised if the thread hadn't of been shut down 🙂 Ian S

January 7, 20215 yr Commercial Member There no "FSDT server" in Australia. You are not downloading from FSDT, and we don't have a download server. As explained already in the other thread, and as I also explained to you by email: - our files are originally hosted by Amazon, in the US, but you are not downloading from there. - you are downloading from the Cloudflare node that is closest to your location, and the selection is done automatically by Cloudflare. - there hasn't been any problems reported with Cloudflare nodes in Australia - on the other thread, 4 users including you are located in Australia, 2 of them reported downloads working just fine, you and another one had slow downloads. Considering all these facts, the most likely explanation for the problem you HAD, is either one of these two: 1) You and the other user from Australia that got slow downloads were downloading from the same Cloudflare node that had some kind of problem ( which wasn't reported on Cloudflare server status ), while the other 2 users from Australia that NEVER had this problem, connected to a different Cloudflare node in Australia, one that never had any problem to begin with. 2) The routing from your ISP ( and the other one user from Australia that got the same problem ) to your local Cloudflare node that on its own is working fine, has a problem in between, like a router along the way dropping packets. When connecting to a host, the route is not always the same, depending on ISP and from which wholesale provider they buy their bandwidth. THIS explanation is more likely, since no nodes on Cloudflare network has been reported having issues in the past few days. And of course: - I already explained this by email, even with instruction how to use the standard command TRACERT to *verify* if it was a routing problem caused by your ISP. - I already provided you with a workaround, that is using a VPN by bypass your ISP routing and download as if you were in a whole different country. In any case, I happy your problem has been fixed itself, maybe some problematic router along the way has been fixed, I hope you finally realized it was NEVER an "FSDT problem" to begin with, something I tried to tell you so many times.
