Recommended Posts

i only ever built it for linux, it was built on centos7, iirc bjoern needed to compile it against the arch libraries.

I am getting a XTlua error when compiling.

So just copied the VC folder to plugins

Well so am I. I can't get the sound working in the Toliss and I miss Active Sky, Traffic Global and X-Vision.

Have you installed OpenAL ?  Are those aircraft Linux compatible , meaning do they use some plugins ?

Yeah I've installed open al. I think it's to do with the new fmod sounds but I am at the stage where I don't think it's worth the struggle for a few extra fps.

No nothing about the fmod, does zibo use it ?

Yep for someone not familiar with Linux will find it a struggle.  But at least now  you have a personal manual to reinstalling Ubuntu and XP whenever you feel like tinkering with it

git clone https://github.com/mSparks43/Volumetric-Clouds.git
cd Volumetric-Clouds/
git submodule init
git submodule update
make

For the old version

git clone https://github.com/mSparks43/Enhanced-Cloudscapes-Engine.git
cd Enhanced-Cloudscapes-Engine/
git submodule init
git submodule update
cp -R ../Volumetric-Clouds/SDK/ SDK
make

for the new one (assuming git clone called from the same folder for VC and ECE - a cd .. after the first make)

What exactly is the cause of this  ? Is it the drivers ?

Since it works in OpenGL, yes. Could simply be that your GCN 4 (Arctic Islands) type GPU does not have driver-level support for the instructions required by the Vulkan-OpenGL bridging used by X-Plane, either on the Mesa levelor the underlying AMDGPU one.

You could still try to file a bug with Mesa (to check if it's their or AMD's responsibility), but it might require detailed instructions to make it as convenient as possible for the devs to reproduce it.

Works fine in Opengl in Linux but the performance is down.

See my post here regarding a preset with minimal FPS loss: https://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/forums/topic/218819-enhanced-cloudscapes-freeware-volumetric-clouds-for-x-plane-11/&do=findComment&comment=2127678

Read the instructions and read and understand them well before asking for support (as I will whack anybody not doing so with a frying pan).

frying pan

Guess i can leave with opengl in Linux , as I still get performance or just use it under windows.

I was just trying if EC would have worked with Mesa in Vulkan , maybe they will release a driver, not yet tried amd proprietory ones as installing them is a pita.
