Digital Design Leipzig/Halle Airport Elevation Fix P3Dv5

Recommended Posts

FYI

I installed Leipzig/Halle Airport and noticed it had elevation issues. I use Orbx Base, Europe LC and Vector for P3Dv5. When you load up on the default end of the airport your plane sinks into the ground. The instruction in the readme file did not help me because I didn't have FTX Europe installed. The FIX is located here if you need it.

I bought EDDP from DigitalDesign a few month ago. I was also faced to an elevation problem. The DigitalDesign support was very helpful and sent me a fix. Problem seems at some installations the coexistence with Orbx Germany North.

It's generally good practice to disable the relevant airport files in the Orbx directory when using an addon airport in the same area, at least that's what I always do as a precaution, and so far haven't had any issues with elevation etc. Those files conveniently include the ICAO identifier, and thus can be traced easily.

I didn’t have any relevant files to disable or the ones mentioned in the read me. The developers fix solved the problem which means he knew of the issue seeing he had the files available but it was not part of the installer.

I missed that you don't even use Orbx Germany North, sorry about that. It was meant more as a general advice if any Orbx regions are in use. I think Vector can cause a lot of issues as well, but that's only hearsay as I have never used it. What is more, I've found that airport scenery entries should always be above those of Orbx regions and landclasses in the scenery library.

I dunno, maybe I bought EDDP after it was fixed, but in the version I got off Simmarket, I saw no issues, and I slewed down the entire length of all the runways to check after seeing this thread.  I use ORBX Global and OpenLC only--no 3rd party mesh or ORBX regional European sceneries.

Anyway, good to know there's a fix if needed.

For the record, I believe Orbx Vector also causes this issue in P3Dv5 as I don't have the Orbx Germany scenery.  But the rix linked to above, installing the 2 files and ensuring that EDDP_Terrain is above the actual scenery, is what fixed it for me.

Yes, that is correct. We could trace this problem back to ORBX Vector. This was in so far interesting as Vector for v5 does claim to not change any airport elevation.

And thanks for bringing up our fix. Glad it does work for all of you here and let us know when you face any further problems.

Best,
Christoph

I need the fix. Is it at SimMarket where I purchased it from?

Dan posted the link in the initial post of this thread but I do agree that it can be easily missed. You will find fixes in our official support forum but I do still try to convince the boss that uploading them to Simmarket/ORBX would be easier. 😄

Hi Christoph,

The link isn't working for me as it just takes me to the Simrussia home page. Is there anywhere else that I can find the fix as I'm having elevation issues also.

Thanks,

Nick

Hi Guys,

I think the fix you are looking for can be found here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1fqfRROlNZLRuAjBn1DPqQLIX0JEJMS-o/view?usp=sharing

This was the link Evgeny the developer provided on their DD FB page along with the instructions : https://m.facebook.com/groups/1963386440541354/permalink/2630758617137463/?_se_imp=1c4DJoaR4ph4koqCy

See if that helps.
