Maybe I am the one confused I was asked to see if any other files in panel folder contained panel in the name and yes there are several!

The only active file is the panel.cfg file.

All the others are alternatives that the config app can choose from.

Burt,

Thanks for clarifying! Here are the contents of panel.cfg if this helps.

Access to the path 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\A2A\Comanche250\Tools\ac.cfg' is denied.

Here is what I see with the information you're providing: even the A2A configuration tool is not able to write the aircraft files (ac.cfg) and most likely it is why you can't modify panel.cfg file either.

You really have to cross check whether your files are set to read-only, or your user account has write access rights to the files. Otherwise, there is no application/tool you can launch which will be able to, because such application/tool is also inheriting your write access rights!

Having said this, you might want to try doing it manually:

1. rename panel.cfg to panel.cfg.backup (just in case)

2. copy panel_F1_750.cfg to panel.cfg (it should ask you for granting access and give the file your user account rights)

3. in the simulator, try the RXP Panel Assistant to replace the other GTN 750 gauges with the RXP GTN 750 gauges

(if you're doing this for the 650, use the file ending with _650 instead!)

Nicely Done Sir!

I was able to get GTN 650 working in 172 by following the direction manually. Will try this method in the other A2A aircraft!!

Thank You!!!

1. panel.cfg

2. panel_F1_650.cfg

3. panel_F1_750.cfg

4. panel_F1_dual.cfg

5. panel_MINDSTAR_430.cfg

6. panel_MINDSTAR_530.cfg

7. panel_MINDSTAR_dual.cfg

8. panel_RXP_430.cfg

9. panel_RXP_530.cfg

10. panel_RXP_dual.cfg

11. panel_210314_23056.gtn.RXP

They all say panel and are cfg files!

Thanks,

OK. Just understand that the simulator only sees one of those, the one specifically named panel.cfg.  You can rename any of them to panel.cfg based on what gauge you are wishing to use.  I see now that you are successful getting the result you wish.  Great!  Enjoy!  Great product with great relevance to the real gauge in today's aviation.
