Because offering those capabilities brings you quickly into dependency hell. The ability to have multiple versions in production at the same time greatly increases the complexity of a software. I am not sure, software as complex as MSFS (dont forget the interaction to centralized cloud functionalities) often has this ability (or at all) . Perhaps to keep desktops users from coming unglued, yes. But I have to think the people that brought this innovative masterpiece might know a little more about what needs done and when. Give it some time, and play in P3D which, if I'm not mistaken, started chuck full of 'FSX code', being alluded to as a source of the current state of development of MSFS. March 18, 20215 yr It's hard to find anything positive about getting old. But there are a couple things that tend to overwhelm you: PATIENCE & ACCEPTANCE. There are a lot of panties in a twist. Is this really worth all the stress and hand-wringing I see here? I too come from the very beginning of computer gaming. By any standard MSFS is an incredible piece of work. It's incredible even if you can only use parts of it. It's incredible just to look at. It's also one of the most complex software efforts yet attempted - My god! The entire globe! Real-time events and weather! Maybe you had to experience the MicroProse wire-frame flight sim back in the early eighties to really have a perspective on this. This is a massive Human endeavor. It's bound to hit some snags. Patience my friends. It WILL come. You didn't just finance a new luxury car. You only spent the equivalent of a modest trip to the grocery store. If you set up a simulated airliner cockpit in your back bedroom in anticipation of MSFS 2020, perhaps that was a foolish decision. Otherwise, you are lucky to be participating in the development of a potentially great new toy. Hang in there Intel [email protected] GHZ. 32 GB RTX 4070 Ti OC

Noel, I really do not know what you are trying to say here mate. I have never alluded to being part of any team making any decisions about what needs doing or when regarding this simulator, or anything else for that matter. I may be taking this out of context, but I am one person who brought (bought) this innovative masterpiece and this is an apparent contradiction to my previous statement about making decisions. If you meant to say that the people that (who) brought this innovative masterpiece was actually about the creation of this masterpiece, you are quite right and I would very much hope that they know more about it than I do. However, most people would have to admit that the creators do, indeed, appear to be somewhat befuddled regarding the updates. Again, and I keep saying this, I have had relatively few problems, and none of them major, with this sim. I am a happy little vegemite. All I am trying to convey in this conversation, is that I think that a majority of simmers and gamers would prefer the core of it to be very much more perfected, before we update sceneries etc which are already more than OK for the majority. I acknowledge that any update, and there is a vast history to back this up, is likely to have a, or some flaws, bugs or issues. Nothing is perfect. However, this sim has some apparently inherent issues that are affecting so many people in so many different ways, which is in stark contrast with the other platforms updates which generally produce issues which affect everybody in very much the same way. All I am asking for is more stability, which hopefully, will result in a more predictive update which will not break previous releases quite as much. I do not believe that this is too much to ask and I do believe that a majority of users would feel the same. I will say again, too, that I do "play" in P3D and XPlane on an almost daily basis. I have never made a secret of this fact and have mentioned it many times over the course of this platforms development. I also believe that this platform does include quite a bit of the old FSX code which has probably been tinkered with. That, to me, is fairly obvious, but I am not an expert and that is an unqualified opinion. I have not taken any offence to this post and I genuinely hope that I have clarified things, for you and for many, about where I am coming from and why. Regards Tony Tony Chilcott. My System.
