When will we get some more military aircraft for MSFS?

But there is the issue of the supersonic speed that MFS cannot apparently support at that time.

It has always been possible to go supersonic with the right flight and engine models for an aircraft.  I modded the C172 to be able to go to the max sim speed of around 2700 KTAS (with crash detection disabled).  In one of the recent updates they even added some version of "mach tuck" as you go transonic.

The aerodynamics of an airfoil or fuselage operating in the supersonic regime are much different then in the subsonic regime.  There are also major impacts on how for example engine inlets work to manage shockwaves and ensure the engines stay happy.

Just because you can change some parameters and get a fast KIAS value doesn't mean it's being properly simulated.

Good point, they definitely have some work to do on realism in the high speed/high altitude regimes.   Control surfaces and engines (with automixture) still work at 275,000 feet for example.   I was just pointing out that there has never been a hard speed limit at or below mach 1 in fs2020.

I really just want a C-130, and any other kind of military Transport aircraft. Fighters are fun too but those are lower priority for me.

Slightly off topic, but kind of related. I think I saw something on Twitter earlier today that MAIW are making progress bringing their military traffic to MSFS.

I'm not seeing anything on their website or forums.

I'd LOVE a C-130 in MSFS. Unfortunately, the odds are VERY low of seeing one in MSFS cause... Lockheed Martin has P3D and they are the manufacturer of C-130. 😉

That doesn't prevent anyone from making one for MSFS.

Who makes a C-130? For ANY Sim? CaptainSim used to for P3D. Now it's a default AC. Who else?

Give us an Airbus A400M instead 😄

Whoever wants to. Maybe a new developer will step up.

Someone ported UKMILL's C17 (with permission), it uses the 747 cockpit. There's a patch made by someone else to make the lights, flight model and fuel more accurate

Perfect for those runs between BGTL and CYLT

I came across this magnificent freeware military aircraft by accident while perusing flightsim.to. I checked it out and its modeling improvements and by golly, this is a beauty! It's the msfs 747 cockpit and it looks great inside the craft. I did one T/O and one final approach, both of which were butter. Lots of fine liveries to boot.

Is that UKMIL C-17 a full portover (IE: Native MSFS flight modeling) or just the FSX model run through the model converter? IE: Can you fly it with the Modern MSFS flight model, etc?

Cockpit looks very dated, but the rest of it looks much better. Will give it a spin over the weekend.
