Short rant about developers

Featured Replies

Thank you for the response, Ron.It's not my task to educate myself what is required to produce an add-on. For me, your SR20 is *exactly* the same in FS9 and FSX. If you would have spilled me some details and give me a reason to purchase your products, then I am all ears. So, the SR22 was developed parallel to the SR20 and features a completely different code base? Not a single line of code of textures have been ported from the SR20 to the SR22? Kinda hard to believe, don't you think? Most of your products are exact replicas from previously released add-ons (Citation Series, SR2x).Are there any improvements of your add-ons from FS9 to FSX? Is there anything value-added? Those are the things that interest me.

I am way to busy for this sort of fruitless discussion.

Never asked for FREE upgrades, but a permanent upgrade program would be nice. See, I bought the SR20. A few weeks afterwards followed the SR22, which looks pretty much the same as the SR20 to me. I was already pretty miffed that I was required to pay full price for a minor and similar release. Now comes the FSX version along and finally your product is costing me a whopping $100+ for the same plane! Please try to walk in the shoes of the end-user.

Now we're all a bunch of kids sometimes, fighting over a video game. BTW, you ARE the age of some of my kids. They're in their mid 30's. You must be about 38 by now. L.Adamson

Please try to>walk in the shoes of the end-user.I have no idea when you purchased what. We provided a free 6.0 SR20 Upgrade to original purchasers. We provided a 30% Discount Coupon for those who wanted the aircraft for FSX.We did the same for the SR22 (which is NOT the same plane), Liberty XL2, Beechjet/Hawker 1.5, soon the Columbia 400, and soon to be the rest of our fleet. This policy will CONTINUE as we move forward and build for BOTH FS Versions. These projects have taken well over six months of hard work by a dedicated and hard working team of talented and skilled individuals to port for FSX.Please try to walk in the shoes of the development team.We refuse to whine about our workload but do not hesitatate to state the fact that these gentlemen who PRODUCE the projects wil be paid and paid fairly.:-)

>>We refuse to whine about our workload but do not hesitatate to>state the fact that these gentlemen who PRODUCE the projects>wil be paid and paid fairly.:-)Ron, I think he's just trying to save money for his "multi"At your expense of course... :-roll

LAdamson, shuddup. Your single-line messages are pointless and only waste Avsim's disk space. If you don't have anything to say, then don't. It was "you" who started the insults and pointless posts, "you" claimed to be the know-it-all and infailable resource about anything aviation- and FSX developer-related ...and then you complain "that is it a shame that it has come to this" after a attacking someone who has merely defended himself from your insults.Gosh man, even as 50 or 60, you're more immature than some 16yo.Done posting in this thread, because it turned from a civilized discussion into a full-fledged uncivilized rant from your side. Congrats! I am sure you'll have one more smart comment, because traditionally you need to always have the last word.

The last thing we want is for folks to purchase our products if they cannot afford or appreciate the VALUE in the products. Frankly, we would prefer that they not purchase at all rather than start pricing threads that go nowhere:-(At the end of the day, and this thread...we will still price our products at our own pricepoint and consumers will still have purchase decisions to make.:-)

You also started the "insults" of these two "fine" vendors, by ranting and then the good old "shame on you". It wasn't Me that did that! It's been pointed out, that you're thinking was wrong, but yet you insist on taking this thread farther, as is seen in your "latest" comments to Eaglesoft. How much farther do you want to dig this hole, that you've gotten yourself into?L.Adamson

Rhett:It wasn't meant to be nice. I don't smile while being insulted and I don't make any comments here on this forum that I couldn't repeat in person. Respect is earned not given. This was a civil discussion, whether one agrees or disagrees with the OP, however, the receipient of my comments has done nothing but interject insulting one liners. THAT'S what is not nice.

Learn to read the thread completely. I asked Ron some simple and clear questions about differences between the various Cirrus "editions" and I haven't gotten any answers so far. I have been positive and understanding, especially in regards to Mike and Rob Young's excellent explanations and I have been apologetic towards the "Shame on you" comment. This thread was civilized until you chimed in, slammed myself and Mike with pointless and immature arguments, insulted and made fun of me personally and claimed between the lines that you just "know it all" and that "I am wrong". *yawn*Oops, and I didn't want to post anymore.
