With your tone throughout the thread, why should you get the answers?I am a "speed reader" and nothing has changed my mind. You've also seen that you're in the minority with your thoughts. Yet you continue, by now blaming me, as well as Eaglesoft. Last words before the thread is locked, as it needs to be......

Once more, hope you can get it this time....The last thing we want is for folks to purchase our products if they cannot afford or APPRECIATE the VALUE in our products.:-)

Ooops, I didn't want exclude your excellent post, of course, Bill. Sooorry!

Once more, explain the difference between the SR20 to the SR22 and assure me that the SR22 does not share some significant codebase with the SR20. Additionally, please explain any added functionality or improvements that has been added to the FSX versions. That's all I am asking. I think those are legit pre-sale questions that surely someone must have asked you before. How can I appreciate the VALUE, if you don't try to explain or sell it to me?

> Have you noticed that the majority of retailers are>changing the rules on Christmas returns this year? Well, they>have to! The "customer is always right" slogan is from a>bygone era! I disagree. They do not have too, they choose too.The customer certainly is not always right. But... we have not and will not be changing our policy. Flight1 offers a full 30 day no questions asked refund policy. Also, vendors that use Flight1's wrapper system benefit from Flight1's policy. We still do the refunds in house. It may be from a bygone era, but that's and era that we hold dear and will not be changing anytime soon. We value our customers and if they are not happy, we want them to be. Regards,Jim RhoadsFlight1

How is HE in the minority? You'd better go through this thread again, AND REREAD Ernie's post. You know Ernie, the DEVELOPER of FSBUILD?

Thank you for what I thought was a considered and balanced view. You have my respect and thanks, I wish more would be as considerate when posting, it was a breath of fresh air indeed,Chris Porter:-outta

Man i feel embarrassed for us as a group after coming up to speed in this thread. It's a wonder that any dev will create future products for us if this is how we treat them. These people have families to feed and don't create these packages for us out of the goodness of their hearts. They run a business and have bills and salaries to pay which happens by us buying their products. Take a step back all and look at it from a different perspective. I bought both Ron's XL2 for FS9 and FSX and did not think twice about it myself since it is the best GA addon that i own (minus its somewhat sluggish performance). Yeah sure Ron can be rough around the edges and tends to defend his products without fault, but overall the man makes wonderful products. We as consumers need to make a choice as to which products we buy so that we can get the best bang for our buck and support these guys who provide us with MUCHHHHH better aircraft and scenery than MS does out of the box. After reading this thread if i were a developer i would just say "F it" and close my shop. I feel embarrassed to even be a member here.

Absolutely Ron. From my post at the beginning of this repetetive, useless, argumentative post that nobody can win - "How many more times do we have to read this tripe, time and time again??"Make your own decision about what you want to buy, how much you want to pay, and from whom: take some responsibility for your actions - and get on with life. End of story. Happy New Year.

I may regret stepping into this cauldron but here goes...As far as I can tell, the problem concerns the fact that an upgraded FSX aircraft looks and behaves more or less the same as the FS9 version, so why should you pay for it? The comparison should really be between the look and feel of the original FS9 aircraft running in FSX and the new FSX upgraded version, also running in FSX. If the two still look and feel the same, then I would agree with your point. If the FS9 version does not work properly (or at all), then it is down to the developer to decide what needs doing to upgrade it / make it compatible, and then decide what they think is a fair price for this work. As a buyer, you then have the option of deciding just how much you liked the FS9 version and if you are willing to pay for a near identical aircraft in FSX (I don't know if it is identical but the argument still holds).I guess the trouble arises because you could pay $30 and be back where you started (except you now live in FSX world). What you are seeing in the price is a reflection of the difference between FS9 and FSX. If you don't like this then I don't think it is entirely the fault of the developer - FSX is not as compatible with FS9 as people would like to think and as many have already pointed out, the developers have a real headache on their hands.

Interesting thread. More opinions please.I prefer to spend my money on new add-ons developed for FSX rather than on upgrades of old models.

>You want a rant? Here's a rant.>>You obviously have absolutely no knowledge whatsoever as to>what is involved in computer programming or the economies of>small businesses operating in a small marketplace. How can you>possibly compare a multi-million company like Adobe with a>two-man "company" like - for e.g. RealAir?? I am a Unix>sysadmin for a community college, and there's not a hope in>h*** that I would do what some of these great guys do for>PEANUTS. How do you now expect a company to "pull somebody>out of a hat" to come in and learn just how a particular piece>of code works? I bought FS Passengers for FS9. If they have to>re-engineer it for FSX I expect to pay for it. Same with>DreamFleet's 727. Some code works. Some doesn't. >>Most payware is LESS THAN THE COST OF A GOOD DINNER FOR TWO,>and people still whine about paying $29.99 for a product that>you're going to use for two years or more.>>How many more times do we have to read this tripe, time and>time again??>>Make your own decision about what you want to buy, how much>you want to pay, and get on with life. End of story. Happy New>Year.>>pjHad to go back thru to find your thread Paul but couldn't agree more:-)Every so often someone comes out with a rant like this thread which accomplishes only what the OP wishes to accomplish...Those of us who have been "around the block" a few times recognize them for what they are...a method to stir a "for or against" argument which always ends up harming the "community" and bringing the worst out in folks:-)Some Flight Sim consumers seem to want developers to do their homework for them and "entice them" into something they do not wish to purchase. We prefer to allow them the adult responsibility of making a purchase decision on their own, free from pressure from us.:-)
