March 29, 20215 yr Aparently it was the FAA responsible for this scrub. The inspector from the FAA couldn't get there in time. 🙄 Yep, Tuesday. My mistake. Edited March 29, 20215 yr by martin-w

March 30, 20215 yr Is there any footage of this? The SpaceX live stream cameras seem to have been operating about as well as the Starship final descent programming. There seemed to be a lot of fog around, so why did the flight go ahead when poor visibility scrubbed the launch a few days ago?? March 30, 20215 yr Visibility isn't an issue in regard to completing the test flight. They use radar I believe. Only an issue regarding video. Wasn't poor vis that scrubbed last launch, it was the FAA guy that couldn't get to site in time. Me thinks they're going to need to nail these landings. The plan is to jump straight to SN 15. So straight to 15 without being able to land.

March 30, 20215 yr Elon has the right idea I think, when he tells us there'll be a multitude of flights before he puts humans on it.
March 30, 20215 yr Jumping straight to SN15 is a bad idea after four failed landing attempts. I agree with, Martin. They need to sort out the landings before they start trying to launch the heavy stuff. March 31, 20215 yr Actually after further reading I'm seeing the logic now. SN15 has many improvements over SN11. no point launching 12 13 and 14 when you know they are inferior and a more cabable version is ready to go.
March 31, 20215 yr Maybe, but on current form they will just end up with a more capable (and presumably more expensive) pile of wreckage. True, but they aren't meant to be reusable at this stage. Each version is a better version. Which is why they have new versions already under construction. They learn from each launch. No point launching 12 13 and 14 when they are redundant designs and more likely to fail. The fixes that would render a landing more likely are incorporated into SN15. SN15 with improvents for landing are no diferent to the same mods to 12 13 and 14. Or call SN15... 14, if you like. No different. It's just a number. 🙂 Edited March 31, 20215 yr by martin-w
